Yes.
One domain I put in my cart, removed it, then was told it was no longer available. Couldn't find it listed anymore.
Guess what, later in the day (after logging out and restarting browser) I searched the auctions and there it was at BIN. Similar happened with another nice domain that day - disappeared and reappeared (this one had never been in my cart).
So I suggest trying looking again with another browser or ip address to double check.
Sometimes, a potential buyer will place a BIN domain in his/her cart and then not complete checkout.
This happened to me once when I was overseas and could not complete my purchases without help from my rep. Normally, I just got in touch with him, and he was able to complete my cart for me.
I found out the hard way that BINs remain in your cart for only two hours and then are kicked back into the auction.
Unfortunately, this particular domain was already at the $5.00 level and had actually timed out by the time I had discovered it.
I asked my rep if there was any way he could retrieve for me, but no -- not considered ethical, I suppose, and that makes sense to me.
Fortunately, I was able snag it later for reg fee.
Also, I noticed that when a domain doesn't get a bid at $12.00, it sometimes disappears for a time, only to return as a BIN later. Sometimes, it even shows as closing at $12.00, but with "0" bids. If it's something one really wants, try clearing the cache and rebooting -- sometimes that will make it reappear, either as a BIN or closed out auction (I always watch the auctions I bid on).
And even if it shows as closed at $11.00, keep an eye on it; sometimes it gets kicked back into the auction.
I can't think of one reason why GD would want to pull a domain from the BIN auctions EXCEPT for current owner renewal.
The premium names don't usually go to BIN status.
