One easy note... Do your research before you buy. If you're buying something with the intent to flip it to end users then make sure you have multiple possibilities and not just one.

I am not a full timer but I have a suggestion. If you are going full time, set aside 6 months worth of living expenses+renewal money in bank.Else you may face situations to sell good domains cheap just to cover your bills.

Exactly! I live from domaining and I reg or purchase only domains for which I already found many quality potential end users.

Sometimes I reg or buy shitty domains as impulse buying, but mostly I do know who are potential buyers and I found a lot of them before I even regged or purchased a domain.

I would also suggest that think of domain market as risky and rewarding as stock market. have complete research and check the market well. 2 things form the basis: The present scenario of a particular business and the role played by online presence in its growth. You might also check (offline) a new business establishment (coming up, not yet started) (Name) and Business like a new real estate company by the name of "ABRACADABRA" is opened in your place (Say, "Australia") then you can quickly check availaibility of all variations of ABRAand buy the names if they are priced reasonable (try to buy as multiple variations) and then wait for some time. Once the business ABRACADABRA is established (started) then you can make an offer (try to combine yourself with web designer/SEO/Development etc. and offer as a package to make it a complete package). Hope it helps a little.

Build a passive income stream that supports your expenses. Do not rely on sales to get by.

Diversify your domain portfolio into 3 parts.

1. Long-term holds
2. Quick flip domains
3. Outreach domains

3. Outreach domains are domains you flip for $100-$500 and initiated contact with end users first
2. Quick flip domains are those you list on marketplaces for a bit more than what you paid.
1. Long-term holds, domains you know will eventually sell for 4 figures or more. Domains that if you emailed and end user about it for $500, they would jump on the opportunity without a second thought, those you hold on to imo.

If you sit on your entire portfolio waiting for $xxxx offers and never sell anything for more than what you paid because it wasn't a 100%+ ROI, you'll end up with a whole lot of renewal fees and not enough income to keep at it full time.

Study the industry until you can determine which domains can fit into which category and be proactive.

Mate you rock. I can't think of a better reply than this one. Not only that, your post just gave me a great deal of motivation and inspiration, and I now have a clear perspective towards domain buying and selling.

Keep up the good work.
