other day found an awesome developed mobi
www.motorhomes.mobi

Just goes to show what can be done. No doubt they get a commission on every customer they forward.
I have tried & tried to get a reading on compatability from ready.mobi
I can't
It brings up another possibility about ready.mobi as having so much trouble with it.
Is it getting like overture.com? & crashing all the time because it's so popular?
It's a nice thought, isn't it?
If anyone manages to get a report out of 5 for motorhomes.mobi, interested to know.

they regged it on 26th sept., so obviously they planned to use.
maybe they are not aware it has to be mobi friendly & just wanted it for the keyword without paying a lot, or not being able to get them

I guess they have a redirect script.

BUT REDIRECT SCIPTS SUCK!!!

My PDA has a sreen the size of a pack of cigarettes. Some redirecting scipts think my PDA is a PC because the screen is bigger than the average mobile screen.

Governator, I'm kinda doing the same thing they did right now. Trying to develop my .mobi as full-blown pc site and then cutting back to be mobi compliant. Maybe they're doing the same?! Who knows though. It's definately not blackberry friendly!

I don't think the site is .mobi compliant right now. It failed in emulator too.

It's not redirected. Another well built yet failed mobi site.

Vizisoft Networks is building the site. Perhaps a few emails containing the failed mobile ready report might help with their understanding of mobile compliance. They need to understand their domain will be deactivated if and/or when dot-mobi gets off their butt.

Don't bother with the reports - we know it's not compliant. Developing solutions which work across all mobile platforms is proving an interesting problem, and I'm not sure most of the emulators help or hinder, I have code that works on emulator, and then not on the phone the emulator is supposedly emulating. But for a site that has been live for 7 days it seems to be generating lot of interest

it certainly isn't compliant and it sort of proves the neccesity of mobi as even with explicit mobi directives sites can't or won't render well on all platforms

it looks like mobi is a necessary first step to make this happen
