Had my first sale today, not a huge amount of money but as far as ROI goes I got about 400%, there is no reason to complain about that. For all the "little guys" like me out there, I also would highly recommend they start using Bido.com, it's low fee, lower priced sales/buys, (don't take your XX,XXX here), but for other trades it is great. It is the site I would have created if I had built a domain auction site. By the way I'm not sure if this is truly ironic but my first ever sale was for "www.postyourdomain.com" It feels really good to have gotten even one sale, and it was unsolicited other than a for sale sign on the parked pages

Congratulations Dev!
400% is good.
Love the irony.

Your next goal now, is how to avoid piling up costs from your next domain buying and renewal spree that will obliterate your 400% ROI and return you back to breakeven.

It happens.

Most of my domains were $8 expired pick-ups so it's easier to get crazy ROI as easy to do when starting from only an $8 investment and possibly a few renewals.

Profit is profit and the best side of the fence to be on. Good Luck on your next one as well.

Way to go.

Your next major step to profitability is to drop your .biz, .net and .cc names, the ones in your signature.

Agreed. Despite what some might think, com is still the king when it comes to domains. They're easier to sell and have a bigger market, followed by net.

If you can get a decent price and 400% ROI, and it is repeatable on a decent timescale, then you will quickly become rich.

Buy at $250, sell at $1000, use that to buy 4 more at $250 [repeat].

However, at the lower price points, the time taken to find and sell the domains might mean that your hourly wage isn't*great.

I love the idea of selling domains about domaining. You have inspired be to list DNOwner.com and DNSales.biz at Flippa.

Congrats! Sounds like you already have some different ideas about how to find the best sales channel for each domain you own rather than simply adding your entire portfolio to Sedo, sit back and hope for he best. Good strategy.
