I'm about to get my first domain sale on E Bay. and it feels great. I was just wondering what was your first domain sale? and How much did you get for it? For some of you that was a while ago so think back.

This is kind of an adult name so I'll say it like this 2F*C.com bought only a few days ago and put it up on a 3 day auction. When I got the opening bid of $15 i was happy just to get that. Now with 30mins left on the auction it's over $100. Guess how happy I am :)

I knew barely anything about this domain business before I got here to Namepros.com So I just want to say thanks to all you guys for listening and answering my questions and posting your valuable information on my threads. I hope to make many more sales:) many more sales :)

Well that's my first domain sale. What was yours?

Thanks,
Chapel

Unfortunately, had I known what I know today, I could have probably done quite a bit better..

It was a pickup of a lifetime... and not that long ago - early 06 - I started in the game in 2005 when I started working for Godaddy - then got serious about it in late 05 - I think that sale happened in March or April of 06.....

My first sale I believe was around $50 for WebDesignChat.com. Small compared to the posters above, but I was only about 13 or so when I did it, so it was a lot for me back then.

My actual first sale was to a Real Estate Agent. I gave him the domain and he said he would give he $50AU (~$38US) Big Mistake! He then didn't know what to do with the domain and dropped it and it was immediately picked up by somebody else. Never got paid. It was a local suburb name close to where the Agent worked.

Second sale was a LLLL.com that I flipped on TDNAM for $19. I was really happy to double my money. I think the buyer then went and sold it for less. It would sell for high $XX+ now.

A measly $15 for forumburst.com. . . I lacked patience then.

I've sold some within the low $xxx region.

My first was HotWebSpot.com back in 'o4 I baught it to create a social networking site then thought social networking would never catch on. It was actually the first name I ever baught and trying to find a way to make my money back was how I stumbled on the industry.

In early 2006, I sold examp.net for $500 through Sedo.
Since then, I haven't had a sale topping $102.

Interestingly enough, the buyer let the name drop when it expired. I didn't think to backorder it, though.

wow interesting and varied results for all....

I'm trying to get in this game but I fear I maybe too late. all we have left are a few hand regs and a bunch of stuff that sells for less. no more million dollar domains to be regged oh well. I'm gonna try and see what happens if i can make an extra 20k a year doing this part time that would be great.

Early 2005, Ringtone.cc for $650. Shortly following, SixDegrees.org for $2,000 (and then a year or two later a show called Six Degrees comes out, bleh).
