Female Domainers have it Easier?

Sometimes I can't help but to think "I bet female domainers get more responses to emails", sometimes I wonder if some of the emails in my spam folder are from guys using female names to sell their crap.

An older person I used to do business back in the day used to swear by using female names in classified ads, saying he would get 2x the responses for the same exact ads selling something by just adding "Thanks, Lori" in them.

And I know for a fact when I used to do cold calling back in the day that people hung up on male salespeople a lot quicker than the females.

They say women have it harder in the business world but when it comes to sales I think they definitely got it a bit easier.

We all know the 'famous' domainers, Rick, Mike, etc, are there any female non-brandable domain sellers who are publically successful in the industry?

Interesting thought. For cold calling and direct sales in person I would strongly believe there are grounds for that, but can't imagine the same for email correspondence. Why would I care if the email I received is from a girl or a guy. Its either spammy/not interesting or I would have genuine interest and return the email? Whether we like it or not there are many cases when a certain gender is seeked for a job, based on their physical attributes simply because there are still people that can be convinced so easily. This "weapon" is eliminated in a written correspondence tho, you just have the content of the proposal to judge.

A bright example is the Live Chat of our hosting company - we have a nice customized chat where the client sees the picture of the operator serving them and can read a short bio. I can honestly and without any bias say that my female colleagues are pretty attractive however this has not brought any pattern or significant difference in the number of sales they make. It all comes to their skills, their knowledge and serving the needed information clearly and politely. I would imagine it can't be much different with the domain business.

Still, I know some ladies lurk around here so it would be interesting to see a first-hand impression from the source ;)

I'd also agree that generally ladies have it easier in life, with one difference, not on critical things.

When it comes down to business , money, and generally something that involves risk/profit etc. I believe both sexes have equal chances for success or failure. That's where skill comes to play and not the individual's sex.

just my opinion ofc.

This reminds me of a poker show I was watching at one time... A group of guys played online poker for a living and one of them did the same type of thing. He created an account with a female username, used a female avatar, and everyone pretty much thought it was a chick. In the end, his friends (who appeared to be better poker players than he was) still made more money than he did.

I could see it maybe grabbing some extra attention, or responses.. But as for more sales, I don't know about that.
