Hi everyone.

So the other day I asked a questions here: https://www.namepros.com/threads/pe...arty-auction-sale-sites.1017418/#post-6145913
And every ones response was amazing and convinced me to make my own site to sell domains (thanks to those who replied).

I've set up a website for this, it is still in progress but the shell of it is up and I've started adding some pages.
I would love it if you could give me some feedback on the look, prices and feel of the site.

>> Website is http://www.namepire.com

I still need to create some supporting pages and add more domain names but I do have some pages up. I just want to know your opinions, features you'd like to see if you came across the site looking to buy a domain name and just overall look.

If all goes well, I may even consider adding a bit of a free membership section where people can join and add their portfolio with contact info to buy? Still not 100% on that option but it is in the back of my head.

Much appreciated.
Thanks!

Ok I like your website, but until you have nice good names for sale there - this will not take off. I have seen many sites come and go (many people i knew) invested time and money, but 99 percent of them if not all are gone. Dont spend too much energy/time/money, when none of your name listed are atleast even xxx range, it wont take off, if i were you, i would try to get good xxx names rather than spending time and money on this.

But a cool site though.
Thanks heaps for you feedback. Really appreciate it!
I agree the domains I have at the moment are not so great but I am working on acquiring new ones all the time.
I may even allow others to list their domain names on the site as well as another form of advertising their domains for sale (for free) which will make it look more appealing as well. I just need to work out a way to make the site unique to what's already out there!

Thanks again :)

There are so many sites you can list names for sale, you have to think for two reaons, why would people would list names on your website (is your website getting traffic, is it better than afternic where people list their names, is it better than godaddy, or sedo or what not?

Can you compete with these big boys, otherwise you are wasting your precious time and energy.

my point is not to bring you down, but do your market research and homework before jumping to do something, because if everything is there already you are not bringing any solution just one more site you can list name (which does not even have traffic) - people wont do it.

So to save you the time and hassale - unless this is different from big boys --- then you are completely wasting time, its good to have names that are in XXX and then have a website to refer people to -- thats about it...anything other than wont take off my 2 cents.

If you want to build a site, then if i were you, i would not develop anything in domaining niche, (its good to buy sell names), but i would invest time in different niche which can potentially take off, domaining community is very small and everything is already there for the average domain investors.

All the best buddy.

Thank you so much for your advice, definitely solid advice and I'm taking that on board.

I realise that there are in fact a lot of other sites that already give a good solution and my site is new so it wont be getting any traffic for a while until I add content and start doing SEO and market it so I want be offering any kind of listings on the site until it gets traffic and is complete if you know what I mean.

Basically I'm thinking of this:

List my personal domain names to start with.
Blog about domaining and talking about what's going on in the industry, domain name sales, maybe even allow guest posts, interviews and general talk about domain names and web dev.

Get the site ranking in search engines and build it into a bit of an authority (This will take time, I know. I've been developing sites for 10 years+ mostly affilaite sites and seo services, that's what my main biz is).

Once I start getting traffic and over time when I do acquire good domain names I will list them on the site plus offer some kind of free service for others to advertise or showcase their domain names.

I do have some ideas for the site moving forward but definitely understand what you're saying. This could be a big waste of time, but as long as I'm enjoying it and making money from ads(site will have adsense and other advertising to cover hosting and other costs) it will be worth it in the long run.

I'm more of a full time website developer/affiliate marketer rather than a domiainer, you can probably tell that via the domain names I have listed but domaining for me is just a way for me to diversify income and I actually really like the idea of it - it's very exciting and I actually get more excited when I flip a domain over making $xxxx a week as an affiliate marketer.

Thanks heaps of the advice, really appreciate it and thank you for looking out for me, means a lot. Also this is something that I will be doing in my spare time until it gets going..
Thanks again, means a lot!
