Can somenody please tell me what factors one should consider whil choosing a domain name.

You will learn MANY as you peruse the threads and lively discussions here on #1 Namepros™ ... to start, one factor may be to consider whether it may one day - or even at the time of registration - be worth a premium over what you paid for it to another individual or entity, IMHO.
If the supply is ONE (single domain name), will potential need or demand from others drive up its (future) price? :blink:
PS. Generally speaking, also stick with .COM's! :yell:
PPS. Use Google search liberally ...

Thanks for the info but my primary reason for the question was to learn how to do a objective valuation of a particular domain name before regsitering it. The points which are mentioned above will only come wit time. CAn we look at some measurable facts about the domain name based on which we can take an informed decision.
