Your question is too general. No one can tell you all the strategies involved in domain acquisition, everyone is different. Even if they could, 99% of the strategies may not work for YOU. depends on why you want a domain?

if choosing for personal site, select one that represents the subject

if choosing to resell, choose one that is currently in demand or one that may be in the future.

think about why someone else would want to purchase it from you and why they would pay more than you did.

that's the basic idea.

"why end user spend thousands of dollar just for $10 domain ?:
is there any logic reason why they should spend $XX.XXX just for a domain

most people will buy a profitable product after all who want loss am I right ?
