Hey ladies and gents, I have a question regarding an expired domain.

Been trying to get this domain for a while, the previous owner let it expire and would not sell it. It was picked up by a domain company who right away contacted me and tried selling to me for a ridiculous amount.

Anyways the domain was reg Dec of 2010 and has been expired since Dec 2011 yet it is not available for purchase.

The Whois is not private, the registrar is DOMAINLOCAL LLC.

The NameServer is NAMEBRIGHTDNS.COM.

Still shows expiration of Dec 2011. Have never ran into anything like this, any ideas why it will not drop?

Thanks in advance for any help/info provided.

The whois data may not be up to date. I checked one of my domains' whois two nights ago and was shocked to find it had 'expired 2011'. As I remembered renewing it, I checked in my control panel at the Registrar's and it showed an expiry date of 2013. Problem with another one of my names that showed 'not registered' on whois. Registrar updated info when I complained. You'll most likely find out the whois data is just not up to date. You can try ask the company who wants to sell it to show you proof of reg/ownership by screenshot.

Thanks for reply, never had that happen with any domain before. Found it a bit odd but hearing you have experienced whois date errors despite the domain being renewed puts me more at ease.

Check the registry whois to get the expiry.

Looks like Reberry got it. You're going to have to pay if you want it.
