Just got this domain off ExpiredDomains and as a designer myself I am excited about the possibilities.

Exclaim (!) is a good brandable along with Design - loud, exciting and bold.

I submitted it to BrandBucket to see how much they will value this at. Hopefully they take domain age into account?

If anything I can use it myself and I hear that such an old domain can be very good at SEO...

https://web.archive.org/web/*/exclaimdesign.com Active on and off since 1998, 19 years 9 months old.

It is a solid brand when it comes to usage, but there aren't many end users as far as resale goes.

Thanks. Why is that though, I guess because most design agencies have a name already right?

Could be more suited to entrepreneurs or people who are looking to start a design business.

See if any of the "brandable" websites will take it to promote. Exclaim is powerful, has energy, pro business. Could be a nice domain for a marketting/fashion/design company.

Thought you were a cynic but not this time haha. Great to hear your positive thoughts on this.

What did you mean by Brandable websites, like BrandBucket? Not sure that they "promote it" if so.

This name isn't 20 years old. You hand registered it on August 26th. It probably has a history of being used 20 years ago but history does not equal age...at least with domains.

As per the value I don't really see any end users but you could stick a $500-$1500 bin on it and it if doesn't sell by August of next year...let it drop.

If you wanted to turn this as your brand as I see from your sig that your a digital designer....it's a pretty solid name to use for your portfolio.

Cool thanks for your thoughts.

I would think that one day an entrepreneur or designer starting a studio would search this name up on GoDaddy and want it though. I'm thinking myself more like a price of 10k and see what happens if they want to negotiate.

What advantage is it to have a domain actually be non-dropped for 20 years? I'm sure it's pretty easy to have it drop by accident so it would be hard to maintain that track record. I heard even though it got dropped, it still retains the 20 year old SEO value...

SEO value dies when it gets dropped. Generally good names don't drop anymore because they will be auctioned off during the expiry process.

How long are you willing to wait for that 1 person? If .com is the only registration for the term, the likelihood of someone else wanting the name is greatly reduced. If Exclaim Design was registered in more tlds apart from .com then maybe there would be some retail value in the domain. If you want to wait for that one person it might take many years to sell at your valuation of $10k if ever.

If you're using expirddomains.net I would recommend using the tlds registered filter and start looking only at marketplace domains in auction or closeouts that are aged.

Wow that's pretty harsh in that case. If it drops even for 1 second it loses all the SEO value?

I see, most of the major TLDs are avail so I guess 10k would be too much in that case.

I'll see how many hits the page gets and go from there maybe, I just set it at half that price.

I was only looking at the deleted domains and digging thru, sometimes there's great ones but they get registered really quickly. What does closeouts that are aged mean exactly? Thanks.
