I am seeing a ton of sub-par tv's being re-priced at $1198.

Are we to the point of anything halfway decent will now be re-priced at mid $x,xxx???

TV's Dropping the next few days...
All priced at $1198

asos.tv
psiphi.tv
burningman.tv
emeraldcity.tv
h-minus.tv
patrickflanagan.tv
lookup.tv
chefdiva.tv

These couple are also priced at $1198
bluechip.tv
deli.tv

OK, these priced at $1198 I can understand...

How about...
Alive.tv - Dropping Sep. 7, 2010

$4500...Seriously???

What am I missing here?

I don't see this as a $x,xxx domain, maybe $450-ish sure but $4500 - Wow!

Could be good and bad.

If people are actually buying crappy repriced tv domains for $1198, or buying decent one worder tv's for mid $x,xxx then that is awesome for the future of "our" better (imo) tv investments, but if no one is touching these insanely high repriced domains then well...it just seems like you may as well bring back that ludicrous "Legacy" Yearly Premium pricing structure because these new prices seem like they may be stifling any growth .tv may have in the near future, just as the old price structure did before.

Of course I would never want the Legacy Premium pricing back, I am just stating that these new prices seem to be as crazy as what we had pre Mar. 18th this year.

Your thoughts?

un-f'n-belivable. once again the powers that be are doing everything possible to wreck the extension. hopefully tuvalu gets smart and awards the new registry contract to someone else.

I agree a lot of the names are crap, but some of them have potential from a devs point of view. I've noticed a certain pattern in their pricing structure, without going into further details about that right now.

We've bought many $1k+ domains and we'll continue to do so if they fit our development plans.

Some mispriced premiums is going to wreck anything.

All in all what is wrong with the way Verisign has run the extension? I'm not talking about domainers losing money in it, I'm talking about from the other side of the fence.

it seems like this could be the begining of more than just a few. a lot of these are new premiums, names that never had a premium tag before.

well i am mostly speaking of the domainer prospects, not that that really bothers me much anymore. but i dont think that they have maximized value for tuvalu either. obviously i dont have all the information to declare that a fact, just my intuition.

must be good drugs in that part of the world ?

Notice WHEN they were first regged. If you were lazy - then an assumption could be made that anything regged during a certain period must automatically be valuable?

or not.

I think we are saying that both men and women have the ability and qualities to become a pimp.

So are the prices on dropped names being marked up now?

I found atleast 1 dropping "premium" that is priced in the $100-$200 range in the coming days. So it looks like not all dropping names are $1198 or above.

Is it a decent premium or is it dog shit?

I'm thinking the price may be a typo on their part. Wether it's a decent domain or not I'm not to judge, but it's not the type of domains we develop. In case you want to know what domain it is - it's SchoolGirls.TV.

Funny enough, the same day UpSkirt.TV, SexStory.TV, Dicks.TV, Cumshot.TV and Pussies.TV all drop and they can be backordered at, you guessed it, $1198.80.

So in your opinion does it seem like most of the backorder drops are being priced higher?

Not my Opinion but an exact fact...
ABSO-FRIGGEN-LUTELY!

Look at the old pricing lists from Mar 18th.
Look at the pricing on some of those Premium .TV's

Then come back to the new drop lists re-pricing and you will see it is a no-brainer.

I picked up a Premium .tv from the old list today that wasn't half as much as $1198, and blows all of these $1198 re-priced Premiums away.

It is really really crazy. I believe with the new outrageous pricing, they are losing boatloads of money right now.

So if you had a great premium right now and decided to drop it to see if you could reorder it, it is a good chance it will be priced high as hell?

Yes - without a doubt :bingo:
