I'm pretty familiar with US trademarks, but don't have a real good idea about European trademarks. Is there a website to search for European trademarks?

Edit: one of my problems has been solved (i.e. domains have been sold); however, I am still looking for how I can research European trademarks.

Each country has its own. It's the equivalent of each US state having it's own patent and trademark office and each state having different regulations. This is the UK one: if you can make sense of it you are a better man than me.

St.Easy.. This is the Benelux countries Holland/Belgium/Luxembourg
It also shows European and International TM's
http://register.bmb-bbm.org/bmbonline/intro/show.do

Then there is the Madrid Protocol which I also do a check on. They basicly cover the same areas but sometimes the one is more thorough then the other so I always check both
http://www.wipo.int/ipdl/en/search/madrid/search-simp.jsp

Ps. I have been trying to get an appraisal on RacingWorld.eu as I received a bid but I am scared to undersell. I asked for an appraisal about 10 hours ago but no-one seems to bother.Perhaps you can help?
Regards Fred

Yeah, you said you spent 4 months checking trademarks, etc.

This looks a good site:

Yo Fonzie!
You have received but a vague but not inclusive understanding of European Trademarks. While contributors may have helped steer you towards Trademarks in individual European countries (referred to as National Marks), and/or processes for International & regional marks (i.e. WIPO, Madrid Protocol, Benelux, etc.), the answer you seek can best be described as... "Community Trade Mark (CTM)" which is a trademark governed by the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) and covers all of the member states of Europe -- one filing covers all!
Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM)
Avenida de Europa, 4
E-03008 Alicante
Spain

Community Trade Mark (CTM). A CTM is a sign for identifying and distinguishing goods or services valid across the European Community, registered with the OHIM in accordance with the conditions specified in the CTMR. See FAQ's
http://oami.eu.int/en/mark/marque/faq/faq01.htm
Search database:

Good Luck!

zipyaj. Rep added. Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for.

After searching, I found the guy I sold my domains to actually does have a TM registered in the UK. I found this from a UK TM search and it also appeared on a CTM search. Great link to know about--I will put it to good use.

Thanks, for the support from everyone. Things worked out and I managed to get a sale despite unknowingly infringing on a person's UK trademark.
