I have a peculiar doubt about domain names and trademarks. I know that we cannot register trademarks in domain names like mygoogle.com etc. But can we go with nTLD names like trade.mark?

To be clear, namecheap is a trademark of namecheap.com, can we register domainname.cheap and do domain name selling business in the website?

It's not about the extension used, it's about whether a name is considered to be infringing somebody else's trademark, whether that includes the extension or not.
You might get away with your example as it's so generic, however don't take my word for it - you very well might not. I'd not register that anyway.
It's not an exact science, sometimes subjective, and there are many nuances.

There you are - clear as mud.

Mad props for attempting to understand the question.

If you own a registered trademark, you are responsible for using it in connection with the specific goods or services listed in your registration. Failure to demonstrate use of a registered trademark for the registered goods or services in the three years preceding a notice can lead to the expungement of the registration.

Using domain name.cheap sounds fine since “cheap” is generic, but watch out for any confusion with existing trademarks.
