Yesterday 7th December at 11:00, EURid opened its systems to receive applications for .eu domain names. 800 Registrars in 25 countries send in applications. All Sunrise 1 Preregistrations that customer placed at EuroDNS are submitted. The Sunrise 2 Applications will be submitted in February and the Landrush Applications in April. You can check on www.whois.eu the position of your Application; you are also able to download on whois.eu the cover letter PDF to submit the documents to Eurid. Submit your Documents only with the original Cover letter, otherwise your application could be refused!

At 11:15:00, Eurid received 40.503 applications (> 40/second with peaks of >60/second).
At 12:00:00, Eurid counted more than 80.000 applications (>23/second).
At 13:55:00, Eurid counted 95.370 applications.
At 16:13:00, Eurid counted 98.718 applications.
At 17:12:00, Eurid counted 99.928 applications.
