I just sold a name off Flippa and using Escrow.com to handle the transaction.

Escrow.com sent me an e-mail saying that it has approved the payment and asked me to take action.
I guess action means - start the transfer

I go to my escrow account and it says:
• Escrow.com has secured the Buyer's payment.
• You may now deliver the first milestone of your service to the Buyer.
• After delivery, select the Continue button.

Here's where the question starts.
What do I do now?
Contact the buyer and ask him to send me his registrar's information?
What about the files? I just send it to him through his e-mail?
Once I've transferred the name + website, I press "continue" button or do I press the "continue" button now and transfer the name+website afterwards?

I'm handling a fairly large transaction, and I really don't want to make a mistake that can be costly.

Thank you in advanced.

Steven, don't be too worried. First contact the buyer and ask them for their registrar details and as for the files this can either be done through FTP..or if its quite a small file you can zip it all up and email it. BUT I usually just give them access via ftp and then they download it.

Click continue after transfer not before. Don't worry they can't pull out. Once they have purchase it they are legally required to complete the transaction

Take care

Yes but, you can still get scammed with someone using Escrow.com
Escrow.com is not a true escrow company.
Sedo is a true escrow company.
Make sure he gives you the correct info that matches with who you are dealing with and the moment he has accepted the change and the whois is updated get a screenshot of the whois.

I would much rather use Sedo.com Escrow service if Flippa offered that option, but seems Escrow.com is the only way.
I'm not sure if Sedo offers website transaction. I think only domains.
I'll be recording the transaction using computer screen recorder.

How did your transaction go?

I am nervous about using Escrow as well - or even Sedo for that matter.

Hope things went well for you!

His transaction is probably still on-going. Normally it takes over a week from start to finish (when you get your funds) depending on the inspection period and how on-the-ball your buyer is.

Transaction went smoothly. I guess it really depends on the buyer.
I still feel much safer at Sedo.com.
