A buyer has contacted me and wants to use Escrow.com. Would anyone recommend them? I'm slightly nervous, as although I'm aware of those allfor*you knowwhat*.com scams, and I'm fairly sure the buyer is genuine (no appraisal requests), I seem to remember the "allfor" con artists have a habit of mentioning Escrow.com in their emails.

Also, what's the default fee system with Escrow.com, seller pays the full fee?

Thanks

Many domain sales go successfully through Escrow.com.

Calculate Escrow Fees here

Buyer or Seller can pay this fee, or it may be split between them.

i sold 2 websites using escrow and had no problems at all.

pretty smooth, although i think it's natural to be a little cautious when buying/selling "anything" virtual these days.

so far, i've been very lucky...

no buying or selling problems with: namepros :) sedo, ebay, paypal or escrow.

scammers ruin it for everyone, but they're a fact of life, and NOT that common - lucky us.

good luck.

I used Escrow and everything went very smooth. This was my first sale so I had no experience with an escrow service. It was easy and in just ten days I had my check. I opted for the free check sent via regular mail. From what I understand it's up to you and the buyer who pays the fee. This is one of the questions they ask you when you start the transaction. I paid the fee, but next time I will ask the buyer to pay.
