They do that so that you register in their service. It is free to register. But they will not really buy the domain.

Few days back, I received the same offer email with the same member name when I listed a domain at GD auctions. The domain had already received bids, so I didn't create an account at domhub, but out of curiosity when I searched around for more information about the legitimacy of the site, I found people complaining it to be a scam. They are just looking for more signups.

It's a bait scheme. Years ago some well-known parking company was using the same ploy as well.

"Hi, we have a client that is potentially interested in your domain and asked us to broker on their behalf.
How much ?
Ok I will pass your quote to our client.
By the way do you know our parking service ########### blah blah blah"

Then a similar mail again from another representative, later, for a different domain. You'll never receive a firm offer for your domains. The buyers don't exist.

see how dumb iam
i am new into this domain business
i actually listed my domain in godaddy auctions and soon after some days i recieved the same mail
quoting 475$ for one of my domain ..so this was one of the best thing happened to me and my joy was out of box ..i told this thing to my brother and shared my happiness ...now what i went to the domhub and registered my account there ...and i kept asking price bit high as i thought the negotiation process will happen..and waited for reply ..no there is no response from the so called Michael Bond ..i reduced my asking price and tried again nd this time he simply closed the negotiation by telling it was out of budget..now what i reduced the domain price to 475$ and waiting if he may start bid ...mean while i googled about "Michael bond dom hub" and you know what i landed here and saw this thread i was like OOPS such a fool iam...

The worst part about scamming on the Internet is that it's so easy to do, even if it's against the scammer's morals. Problem is the anonymity of the Internet makes it easier for someone to not care about another's feelings.

It's bad stuff but once you rise above it it won't bother so much anymore. I got used to it and believe me I'm pretty emotional too lol
