i thought it would be real nice to share some of the emails i receive from fellow domainers trying to sell their crappy names.

hopefully, some of you will read these and stop sending or see the mistakes they make so you won't make them too.

here is one from Andrew Brad, and if he is a member here...he's a clown! why? because he included every other email address he sent this mail to. thus one could harvest his list and spam them too.

To whom it may concern,

The premium generic aged domain FREDLOYAINSURANCE.NET is up for sale and I am emailing several parties that have registered similar domains OR use "[fredloya], [fredloya insurance], [loya insurance], [fred loya claims], [fredloya locations] etc." as keywords in their advertising campaigns. This is a 6-year old domain, with no drops since it was registered in 2006.

According to the Google Traffic Estimator the keywords ‘Fredloya Insurance’ receive over 40,500 searches every month, thus making this a high SEO premium domain worth thousands of dollars.

Right now, the asking price for FredLoyaInsurance.net is just $250, and is available on a first-come-first-served basis. Yes, you read it right, $250 ONLY.

This is a great opportunity to acquire a great domain at a throw-away price. If you have any questions don't hesitate to send me an email or call me directly at +91. 939-2774-412.

All transactions will held either via Paypal or via the secure services of Escrow.com.

Best regards,

Andrew Brad

Domain Broker, FredloyaInsurance.net

if any of you receive such emails, feel free to post them so we can expose the spammers.

Thanks

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
We expect domainers to be businessmen, not ass-wipes, as the vast majority are. When a garden-variety novice starts calling himself a domainer, he had better wear the suit properly. Anything amateurish can hurt up real domainers. Yes, all noobs make mistakes but when a mistake is made, LEARN FROM IT! Some noobs don't care about laws, ethics, or anything but making a dollar. Those ppl hurt the industry. We expect domainers to be businessman because, hey, that's what they are--or at least what they try to be.
I agree... BUT... As a new fellow in this market, trying to get the right way, I feel that it is very difficult to try and find the "buyer" without looking like "another " guy that sell domains. God forbid of course hoping not to look like a spammer.
So all of you with the great experience, what is the right way? I'm afraid that a sellers motivation is not enough.
*** assuming that the domain names are not the problem :)

You're right seller's motivation is not enough.

The formula is very simple though;

Quality domains + Qualified buyers = a potential sale.

Oh today I've got 2 same emails during 10 minutes but signed by 2 diff. persons.

I wouldn't post any emails here - but this one is without any idea:

"To whomever it may concern,

The 3 months old premium domain Toonami.net is up for sale at $488 only. Since you own similar brand domains, we thought that you might be interested in acquiring this one as well. We are sending this email to several parties, and the first one to reply back will get the deal. If you are interested, please reply back soon.

Thanks
Jeff Lewis
Jimmy Turner (it's in the second email
)"

It was sent to my [email protected] email.

These guys think that TOONAMI is similar to TWOMOON :)

Plus I like this part "3 month old premium domain"

The mails of spammers are: [email protected]

I wonder what kind of wine matures so quickly!! And then the wine shop still has to pay $488 to the winery for this special 3 month old wine!!

Got to give it to him though-he's funny! :D I think he is under the impression that for a domain to have the best specs on earth, is for the domain to be as "fresh", or close to new, as possible rather than an "old" and "used" one.

One good idea for ya: Try to not sound like a domainer. Really, you shouldn't ever sound like a guy who owns dozens of domains & wants to make a deal with one of them. Best to sound like a 'normal' person who just so happens to own a domain. This might seem strange but it's the way to work. :) Try too hard (or at all these days) to look like a pro will just paint a bad image of you in the minds of potential buyers

So all of you with the great experience, what is the right way? I'm afraid that a sellers motivation is not enough.

This has been sent to me several times - each time I laugh just as hard as the first :) -

Time is approaching for am-e-thyst [d o t ] com to become available, with a minimum amount of time left, we want to ensure you that you can receive am-e-thyst [ d o t ] com at a responsible price.

You still have time to express interest: (url deleted) - this was in a BIG bold font

The benefits you will receive by owning this domain:

Organic Placement within search engines.
Generate more clients by more control over market.
Better Company Branding and Name Recognition.
Makes your prospective clients feel more secure.
Offering more resources and information to your Target Market.

What ridiculous turd of a domain name has a hyphen between each syllable? And what is a "responsible price?"

I don't know how you do it in US, but here in Germany there are extremely harsh rules about email. If you send an email which was not requested by the receiver of the email before, you can end up paying 1K to his lawyer, if he should complain. This is too much imo, but thats how it is. So we don't send thousands of emails a day. So we also searched for alternatives, and one think i do, is that i actually mail letters to the managing director or marketing manager. It costs me 55 cents per letter but sometimes its worth it. And its also more professional than emails.

Well I know that idea with prices with a 88 on the end.
It's from the Domain College at DNF - I guess that guys have read it at DNF.
BTW think that pricing with 88 at the end is not a bad strategy!

But what is not good is that guys are mailning domainers. It not very hard to understand who is domainer and who isn't (just to check whois and/or to check what is on the domain) - but they are lazy and they use automatic emailing - and it sucks!!
And this is why their emails are here in this thread.

I'm totally ok with receiving an individual email with not a bad domain but hate mass mailing. It shows NO RESPECT, so I don't resepct them either.

Was gonna respond, no my names are actually good insurance domains wouldn't give ya $12.88 for this but time is money so marked to spam folder. Amazes me people take the time to spam and then target domainers instead of end users. Good domains sell themselves with a little promotion, junk gets spammed all over and fast forward a few years and any end user will have looked at so many spams on garbage domains that they will probably delete the legitimate emails with something they would actually like to buy. Might just start click bombing any parked domain I get sent so they lose their parking accounts.

These domain spammers work fast. I registered a couple of domains on Monday in a niche I've never been in before and received my first "buy my premium domain. blahblah.com" spam for the niche on Tuesday.

This thread is not funny at all, when you think about it, you bet that all of your potential future endusers received couple of these emails with crap names and unjustified prices, and so the chance that also your email will end up beeing ignored by them (even if you offer better names) is getting higher and higher each day these spammers are active.

So this thread is actually quite sad

:talk:

it's "ironically" sad.

as with most advice given on domainer forums and read on blogs....is that "the frantic" only "read in to" what they want to read, in conjuction with their goal.

they ignore the warnings and speed past risk signs, in a reckless search for the all mighty end-user.

Didn't reply, no sense in confirming my email address is a valid one.

If you are irritated by those pesky spammers, report them to their ISP and registrar. Include the full headers of the E-mail.

The thing is, it is quite possible that the domains you own which you believe are "better names", will also look like crap names to others. So if you send a similar email, you would also be sending spam yourself.

The new trend is they post in the appraisal section on NP asking for price and if you answer the post (even if you say is better as develop site than domain) would send you a PM selling you the domain.

And what is a "responsible price?"

meh ... responsible ... reasonable ... same thing  ... they both start with "re" and end with "ble" don't they ? :p

... unless they meant that their "price" is mature and responsible ... unlike all those reckless "prices" out there ...

True. And when they do, they are given infractions :)

Note to self, low ball all appraisals I give ( especially to the good quality ones...)
