My take:

It's not a CRISIS, it's an OPPORTUNITY.

As the prices are driven down by slow demand, there are bargains to be had, especially for a long hold.

I totally agree. I have stepped up my buying as there are more opportunities if you know what you are doing.

It is just more difficult now. Bad economies server a purpose to trim the fat. People who don't adapt won't be able to survive.

Bad economies let skilled people thrive. It is not hard to invest in a good economy when anything is going up. That is exactly what happened in the housing market. It didn't matter how selective you were, where you bought, etc. The prices just kept rising.

What do you think the "Economy Crisis" is doing to the Domain industry?
The global economic crisis is forcing people to reassess the value of almost everything. The ad shakeup is accelerating. Digital media is quickly grabbing ad market share from analog (print, billboard, non-interactive electronic). The domain industry is a good place to be. Drop quality has risen as the baby gets thrown out with the bath water, further fueled by the end of tasting. This may be the last positive strategic inflection point for the domain industry before an inevitable future demise.
