Several news articles this week have been written about the possibilities of a new recession.

The Atlantic writes, "Is the Economy Overdue for a Recession?"

Meanwhile Brazil is suffering its worst economic crisis, which has just gotten even worse.

I found a copy of the Global MacroInvestor (GMI) publication that were mentioned in the news from time to time. That would be located here.

Of course, all of this could be a sign of fear from economists following an unconventional election cycle. However, seeing that countries like China and Brazil are dealing with a seemingly unending economic crisis, there appears to be reason to fear a recession.

It might be too early to decide on whether or not a recession is an imminent risk. We will probably never know until it does hit. Nevertheless, now is a good time to discuss strategies that everyone has developed to weather our recessions. So, how do you think a recession would affect domain sales? And what fallback plans do you have to manage through a recession?

I think that in regards to domains, they are sort of recession proof. A good name is always a good name.

People tend to turn towards the Internet in times of economic tension. Someone who works as a writer is having ends meet with his 9 to 5 might open a website and need that perfect name. So on and so fourth.

Same goes with people looking for a new hustle / or looking to make some extra cash. I started domain in because I had sold a few. In the past and figured it could help me earn some extra.

Long story short, the Internet becomes more and more popular everyday. Many people on this earth were adults before the Internet age and never adapted. There will be a day when every agegroup in the world is of the Internet age. Aka a much higher demand for domains. Which is compounded by the fact that everyday less domains are available for register.
