Hi all!

We’ve created this thread to make it easier to communicate with us here on Namepros, and we’ll also be posting regular updates on our offers and products. Please feel free to share any feedback and suggestions with us, or to let us know if there’s anything we can assist with.

We’d like to kick things off with an extension of our $7.99 .COM transfer sale, the code “COMTRANS4” has been extended until 23:59 PST on May 31, and there’s no limit on how many domains you can transfer using the code. Every month we have great prices on a wide selection of domains, and you can find a full list of our sales here:

We’re also excited to share that our CEO, Todd Han, will be hosting an AMA (Ask Me Anything) right here on Namepros in the near future, with more information on a date and time coming soon.

I love Dynadot and I'm happy that they implemented the security features I requested in a matter of a week. I asked for the Security PIN code to unlock the account to be hidden and in a matter of literally a weeks time that feature was implemented. I do have some other features requests but I'll send them using the ticketing system when I have time. HAPPY DOMAINING EVERYONE!!!

Wow, this is not a change for the better. I often choose to pay more to reg at Dyna specifically for their free email plan. Guess I won't be doing that going forward

"Starting October 15, 2025, the Dynadot Free Email Plan will have a daily sending limit of 25 emails. This update ensures better performance, security, and reliability for all Free Email users."

I have a question about the "Other Registrar" tab, where we can add domains from other providers.

Does anyone know if data is displayed here, like for names managed with Dynadot?
I'm thinking of the calendar dates for first registration, ownership and expiration; Nameservers; Whois searches (global); TLDs taken; appraisals.

Thanks!

Good afternoon. Are you considering any changes to the behavior of the Pending Sale Lock in your domain marketplace? I keep running into abuse of this system. Brokers from different platforms contact me, and at the same time, the domains they are trying to contact me about - listed only in the Dynadot marketplace with your NS set - suddenly get the Pending Sale Lock status. As a result, a potential buyer simply sees a message that the domain has pending sale. Then, five days later, the domain becomes available again, because of course, nobody actually bought it. The real goal was not to purchase the domain but to make it look "sold" in order to redirect the broker's client to another platform or domain. So that the buyer cannot directly buy this domain on your platform and avoid the broker.

When I kept my 4L domains at Dynadot, this situation happened several times. Because of this (and a few other reasons), I transferred all my 4L domains to another marketplace, leaving only my most valuable 3L and CVCV domains listed with you. But recently, the same thing happened again:

on September 26, 2025 at 14:51, I received a message that my 3L domain (Bin price 250,000 USD) was placed under Pending Sale Lock.

That very same day, less than an hour later, I started receiving messages from GoDaddy brokers in both Chinese and English:
1759676780418.png

So the buyer is ready to pay $200,000 + GoDaddy’s commission. With a 20% commission, this gives a total price of $240,000 USD.

It’s obvious to me that a serious buyer who has hired multiple brokers contacting me since 2024 would not cancel a deal over $10,000. However, it's equally clear that a broker motivated by commission would try any way possible to derail the sale on your platform and move it to theirs.

Previously, one of my domains went into Pending Sale Lock three times in a row, each time for five days (total 15), if I remember correctly. Again, I don't have concrete proof of who exactly is behind this or which brokers are responsible, but these situations simply cannot be coincidences. And the purpose of this message is not to accuse anyone, but to show you that your system is being used in a way that harms domain sellers, depriving them of potential sales. After all, no one knows what exactly those brokers tell the interested client after domain became Pending Sale.

I suggest that you talk about this issue in public and find a fair solution - for example, turn off the Pending Sale Lock for very expensive domains (for instance, $50,000 - $100,000 and higher). It's not very likely that many real buyers will want to buy such costly domains instantly, which could make refunding the buyer difficult. Or you could add another check - for example, confirm that the domain's price has not changed in the last 5-10-15-30 days. If the price of a very good domain suddenly drops a lot, many buyers might quickly try to purchase it. But if a domain's price has stayed the same for months, it's unlikely that two rich buyers will want to buy it at exactly the same time.

Hey Thanks for the feedback!

The main thought process behind the Pending Sale Lock in general is just to give buyers a chance to submit payment, especially for larger purchases where the payment method (usually bank wire) could take more time to come through.

Though I see your point on a high price name getting the lock repeatedly with no avail, I'll have a chat with my orders team to see what the best option is. Do you think other registrars have better methods that we should implement regarding this?

In the mean time if you have a pending sale lock that you need removed due to another offer, please let me or my orders team know and we can review and possibly remove the lock early if it looks like the buyer won't be submitting payment.

Good afternoon. Thank you for your reply. Honestly, I don't see any point in having Pending Sale status for expensive domains (and even for cheap ones). Whoever is first should get it - at least for domains that are hosted directly with you as the registrar and that you can fully transfer to the buyer after payment.

As an option, it would be great to have a system that requires the buyer to pay a deposit before buying a domain (for example, if they want the Pending Sale status to make sure no one else buys it first). For example, the buyer could pay 1-5% of the domain price (this amount is usually easy to pay by card if the domain doesn't cost millions) to set the Pending Sale status for 5-7 days. For expensive or cheap domains, you can simply set an fixed limits, for example, min: $100, max: $5,000.

If the buyer doesn't complete the purchase during that time, 90% of the deposit goes to the seller's balance and 10% goes to Dynadot as a fee. This way, the buyer will be motivated to finish the deal, and if they fail to do so, they'll lose about 1-5% as a penalty.

For example, for my domain priced at $250,000, 1% equals $2,500. If the buyer didn't buy it, I would receive $2,250, and Dynadot would get $250. I think such a system would filter out people who only harm sales, while giving serious buyers the option to reserve a domain at a fixed price (if they want to, and during the reservation period the seller cannot change the price) for a small penalty. If they don't want this option, they can buy as usual (without Pending Sale status), but with no guarantee that someone else won't buy the domain first.

This way, all doubtful buyers are filtered out, and a real buyer gets the option of a guaranteed price and guaranteed purchase during the period - or no guarantees if they prefer to take the risk. The domain seller receives compensation if the deal fails because of the buyer, who wanted to have the exclusive right to buy a specific domain.

Of course, this would require a lot of work to implement.

Seems Dynadot has added an option to import prices from other marketplaces when listing your domains for sale:

This is a great addition imo and will save a lot of time.

One other feature that I think is missing is the ability to turn on/off "Bulk Allow Installment Payment Option" on many domains at the same time. Currently you need to set the price first to be able to do it.

Will this work for bulk upload/listing to NameClub?

Seems so, I tried changing a few prices on Afternic and then clicked import prices in Dynadot and the changes were automatically synced on NameClub.

I should add that this only works when setting the price for multiple domains at the same time. The functionality doesn't appear to be added yet when changing the price of a single domain.

I've gotta dig into listing everything at NameClub.

I probably have to add TXT everywhere to list when not regged at NameClub. And then figure out a way to export csv with prices and then upload to nameclub. A bother for a small marketplace (but all eyeballs are welcome)
