Hi all!

We’ve created this thread to make it easier to communicate with us here on Namepros, and we’ll also be posting regular updates on our offers and products. Please feel free to share any feedback and suggestions with us, or to let us know if there’s anything we can assist with.

We’d like to kick things off with an extension of our $7.99 .COM transfer sale, the code “COMTRANS4” has been extended until 23:59 PST on May 31, and there’s no limit on how many domains you can transfer using the code. Every month we have great prices on a wide selection of domains, and you can find a full list of our sales here:

https://www.dynadot.com/sales.html

We’re also excited to share that our CEO, Todd Han, will be hosting an AMA (Ask Me Anything) right here on Namepros in the near future, with more information on a date and time coming soon.

Dynadot is an ICANN accredited domain name registrar and web host headquartered in San Mateo, California. @Dynadot Is there a glitch in your system? I received 7 different emails about expiring domain names. Please check out the dates in the screenshot. This type of mishap concerns me because if your Dynadot system reacts to that false 30 day expiration date then there is a real concern it could possibly push my domain names to a unwarranted deletion and/or a redemption period without my knowledge 😐.
I contacted Dynadot about this and got the following reply:

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us. The engineer has fixed the bug. Sorry for the confusion caused.

All the best,
Olivia Wu
Dynadot Support Team
However, I'm still getting emails with incorrect expiry warnings.

@Caleb Tweed
FYI, there's currently an issue with the formatting on some of your automatic emails:

I'd love for these auctions to take off. I can't remember a good/popular auction platform for domainers since probably Flippa. Namejet was also OK I guess.

I wouldn't hold my breath. Calling the auction ''Premium'' and removing completely unpronounceable garbage is not enough - from what I can see, nothing else has been done. I don't see them getting anywhere with these auctions; it's just another one, like so many others.

The only type of auctions I see nowadays that could actually work are the ones Epik used to run (maybe they still do, I don't know): starting at $999 and going down to $9. With a large pool of names, there will always be some names to consider.

Yeah that's the likely outcome. It's a bit of a paradox in that you need good names to draw in the bidders but you need bidders to draw in the good names. It's also very rare you get any endusers at these auctions and nobody wants to let their names go at trade prices. That's why the expired auctions get the most action

Exactly. There are zero end users, and every decent name worth considering is starting at an unrealistic initial bid that no other domainer would ever consider buying.

They should do something similar to what Sedo does. To get your name listed, $99 reserve price is required (I think). @Caleb Tweed fyi

Now on Dynadot Auctions, you can't win a domain because a specific bidder has set a $1M proxy bid on every auction. @Caleb Tweed what's happening on dynadot auction market?

We're currently looking into this and banning this user/removing their bids.

I’ve been following this thread and I want to share my honest opinion.

Dynadot is definitely one of the better registrars in terms of pricing, interface, and overall domain management, but there are areas that really need improvement. Frequent maintenance downtime, lack of clear communication at times, and auction handling issues (especially around questionable names) do create frustration for serious investors.

As domainers, we rely on registrars not just for cheap renewals, but also for trust, stability, and professionalism. When accounts or auctions feel uncertain, it shakes confidence.

I personally like Dynadot and use it actively, but I hope the team takes this feedback seriously reliability and transparency should be top priority moving forward.

ui is personal taste

strictly ui for me sav is first. old ui not new one.. sav has many issues.. so this is ui only review.

worst ui is porkbun
slowest is spaceship namecheap etc

dyna is far from best prices but at least makes ttop10

that's my review based on some 15 places I am on

actively use maybe 4 now

i got on unstoppable domains lately with most names... because of their 5us all tld transfer promo.
I wanted to save that 2k. not all do. i guess that's personal too

their ui is ok.
ok speed too

support good.

no complaints really

sales are rare for me and most so really everyone just wants cheapest place to park names while waiting on sales.. 11us renewal com there is still acceptable to be stuck with 1yr

We're banning during the auction/remove the fraudulent bids so they can continue as normal. For the User auctions affected, we've let the sellers know of the issue. This has also made us realize to add more safeguards for larger bids, so we'll be introducing something new soon so this does not continue to happen.

Appreciate the feedback. The Downtimes are something we're getting better at (though sometimes we need to do an immediate fix). We try to have the needed ones on less busy times, though it can be hard to balance when we have customers all over the globe.

Were the auction issues you mentioned related to the issue above (the million bids) or was it a different issue? If it's the above issue, there's honestly not much more I can say. It seems to be a new user who is bidding recklessly, which we have caught and banned their account and working on having their bids removed from auction. We're actually working on a better system to prevent this exact sort of thing which should be ready sometime soon.

If there's anything else specific that you believe we're not doing the best at, please don't hesitate to let me know!

Quick update:
We have recently added a new Bid requirement to combat these false bids. For any bids over $2k, the bidder must have at least 5% of their bid as account balance ready in their account, which is forfeited if they do not pay for the auction (and of course they are banned from bidding again, depending on the situation).
