So I'm confused.

A name I was watching and wanted very badly got 5 bids in the last 5mins on Namejet(pending delete ).

I placed a backorder credit with Godaddy & a Backorder on dropcatch ! ( btw I'm assuming Dropcath hides true number of bids on pending delete ?) anyway all these back orders set for a name.

I'm watching Whois is and finally it rest sets !

Saying it's been REGD WITH A NEW 2017 date , by a register I've never heard of " HOSTLANE "??

How is this possible ? Can you actually hand reg a name and beat a drop catch service ?What happen here ?

The name was c/o/i/n/s/p/a/r/k dot com

spend about $10M, and you might be able to win, otherwise you an probably email the winner, and offer $1K for a quick sale since you want it so bad.

I don't know the answer to your question (hopefully someone else will weigh in) but I do own CoinSparks.com if you're interested. :)

Hostlane is Dotster so it is going to auction now, you have to go fight for it now with your bankroll.

Ok but why is the date reset ? Did doster /HOSTLANE "drop catch it" or was it hand reg ed ?

If it was caught wouldn't it still show the old date , so my questions is still can you beat a drop catch service by hand reg ? (Assuming that's very rare thing )

nope they caught it about an hour ago, and the date changes to the new registration date.

Huh I see, do they registers get priority over a regular drop catcher, kind like the club discount gets put behind the full price drop catch service ?

Hence why you said $10mil

Best you contact namejet support, and ask them all these questions.

Good luck

Namejet pending delete means Snapnames. Snapnames caught the name, you had no BO with them. The date reset because it was a pending delete drop.

Stop being confused and get your head in the game :)

I never said I had a BO with them, I only placed one with Dropcatch , and 1 on GD.

I stated I saw 5 bids on Snap /Namejet ( I'm confused becuase the last Time I caught a "pending delete "on Snap my original date did not rest .

I know you had no BO with snap, that is my point, reread my post.

If you caught a "pending delete on Snap " the date would reset, you either caught it snap "pre-release" or bought aftermarket there.

Now that makes sense . I believe it was a pre R , and I was getting the two confused and thinking they both pan out the same way.

I thought they both retained og date . Thank you for the clarification 😀. That explains a lot .

Saying it's been REGD WITH A NEW 2017 date , by a register I've never heard of " HOSTLANE "??
It was registered by hostlane (it is possible that hostlane is a partner of one of the dropcatchers (Namejet or Snapnames). When a domain is deleted and re-registered (which is what dropcatching essentially is), the reg date is reset to this new registration.

How is this possible ? Can you actually hand reg a name and beat a drop catch service ?What happen here ?
It is possible that it was a handreg or a backorder caught by a dropcatcher or an API request and a lot of luck

Ok but why is the date reset ? Did doster /HOSTLANE "drop catch it" or was it hand reg ed ?
Either of those cases will result in the reg date being reset.

No. What the poster meant by $10M is that you need a ton of money to create your own registrars solely for the purpose of dropcatching. The more registrar a drocatcher owns and/or is affiliated with, the higher their chances of dropcatching a domain. DC, at last count, has upwards of 750 registrars.

Namejet pending delete means Snapnames. Snapnames caught the name, you had no BO with them. The date reset because it was a pending delete drop.
This is completely incorrect. Namejet and Snapnames collaborate but Namejet pending delete does not mean snapnames. That sentence does not make sense. That said, a domain backordered on either snapnames or namejet is auctioned to the backordering users from both platforms

I'm confused becuase the last Time I caught a "pending delete "on Snap my original date did not rest

This is impossible. It must have been a private seller auction and not an expiring auction.

Thanks for taking the time help explain all this . Always learning something new and always getting confused by something new lol.

That last part ....about it being impossible , the name was "casinobookings" and I'm 95% it was a pre-release or pending, originally thought it was pending delete but don't remember , anyway , it retained its original creation date ..it's my oldest domain , if you look at Whois is shows you its 19 years old . The date never reset like it does on a drop and reg .

So casinobookings was likely a pre-release and not a pending delete. A pending delete's reg date will reset (To clarify, I'm talking about normal flows and not incorrect data due to bugs or somesuch)

In the context of the OP's post and in an effort to explain things quickly, everything I posted is correct, go back and re-read.

Proof that you are speaking out of inexperience, but like myself I am sure that all here appreciate that you did it with such arrogance. As I explained to the OP, it was probably Snap "pre-release" (and no they don't call it that).

I did and it is not. Namejet pending delete does not mean snapnames. They are different, both organizationally and legally. Go back and re-read your own post.

No it is not proof. You're the one who's being arrogant. I will accept that instead of expiring, I should have typed "pending delete".

Is what you said, explain why you said it. Then explain why you said everything in your post with such arrogance.
