Just wanted to share my little mistake I've made hoping others will try to avoid it. And I know many of you have already done it or at least they are aware of it.

Anyway, I searched an expired-domains list the other day and from 100's of domains I found 4 worthy domains with PR3. I noted those domains down and said to myself OK, I'll reg them tomorrow as it's very late now and I really have to sleep, who's gonna notice those domains till tomorrow, anyway...
But what happened the next day is that 2 of those 4 domains were taken and regged by someone else
I never thought anyone would reach those domains till the next day, but then I was so wrong.

So the lesson is:
If you find a domain name that is worth registering, then leave all your other work and secure that domain at the spot by registering it.

Agreed, happened to me a couple of times. At least one name that was tasted, then dropped, so I registered it :tu:

Be sure it's good.. Some time sponteneous buying can lead to a misbudgeted objective.

You have to keep in mind the web is a global system so "when I get up" for you may be "when I go to bed" for me

Another reason:

Some of the places where I have tried to see if domains are available are apparently owned by people who then look up the names that you have looked for. Then to take any or some of those domains.

Sadly, I have reasons to think that this applies to Name.com (= Domainsite).
I don´t think it can be just by incidence. Happened some times now.

If you really want a domain, take. If you just know that you will reg it anyway, don´t wait.

I think I have had a reason to wait many times, I´m a bit ambivalent but also, I believe I know that I chenge my mind, become smarter in a while so many names that I decided to wait with, was such names I would not register today so in a way that has saved me money. Money I can use now to reg those more valuable names I find now. I have learned a lot until now. Even in the last week. I made lists even until ca 4 - 5 days ago and then I started to think about my strategy, to improve it and now, among the domains I put on the list a week ago don´t feel as interesting anymore. Now I have found a bunch of new domains chosen in an end user purpose, I think I will stay to that from now. Also because I have so many domains with high ovt which I have to develop and I don´t have time for more such times.

Hmmm, as much as I want to agree with this advice, there have been many times I grabbed an expired-domain, my hands shaking, saliva drooling while waiting for the browser to load the registrar's shopping cart, then dreaming about the fat wallet I will soon have ... just to realize over breakfast: this domain really sucks... no wonder noone wanted it 8^X
