There is a good chance Anki Puri is actually/authorized to act on behalf of Charles Day Prince. But @Ankit Puri , this seems to be mostly about communication. I think its a common rule for people who do biz on the internet to become alarmed when full name on account doesnt match full name on credit card. It doesnt mean you did anything wrong, but the other side needs you to clarify and connect the dots between your commonly used name and the name on the credit card. IMO, banks only keep allowing fradulent charges hit stolen/ihijacked credit cards because they dont know its stolen. once they know, they will shut it down asap.

Your dislike for scams from India has no relation to this issue.

I was not following the thread very much but do recall this being said "DomainX is organising first Live Auction @ DomainX™ 2019 Conference, New Delhi scheduled for 4th August, a day after the annual conference which is on 3rd August. The Live Auction is a first one in India"

If it is an India event anything can easily go wrong, especially if there's a likelihood of scammers participating.

    I sincerely hope you’re right.

If that’s the case, I would invite Ankit to connect us to Charles and I’ll personally hop on a call with Charles to verify that.

jameandrew, Nikhil Jain you can dislike what I said all you want but the truth is India scammers steal a fortune from people every day of the year. They mostly target USA CANADA & UK and recently also started targeting even The Netherlands. That fraud is a big industry in India. There'e 100s of YouTube videos on it,

There are many 1,000s of them operating out of 100s of call centers in India. The Indian gov and police usually cast a blind eye to it with rare arrests for the positive publicity value only, imo.

Fraud is in every country. There is no country immune to fraud or corruption. Countries, or the people that reside in countries, should not be judged by the worst in society.

I have to make purchases for people quite often, with domains and other things as well. Just today I had to use one of my clients credit cards to purchase something from an account that belongs to me, very common.

Are you thinking your country is pure like mineral water? Scammers are everywhere in the world. Don't judge the Indians based on sh*tty youtube videos.

True to a degree but the problem is scamming is a huge industry in India and involves a much larger percentage of population vs other nations where it is far from being common and not operated openly out of large scam call centers as they do in India. Some India call centers have 100s of scammers on the phones.

And in most nations (excluding Nigeria and maybe few other nations) the gov, FBI, police routinely investigate, prosecute and make arrests but in India there's usually a blind eye to it all by the authorities.

I did not dislike your posts because you said there are scammers in India. I did because it seems that you - at the back of your mind - have associated scammers being majority or only from India. I would have disliked your posts even if you had associated any other specific country instead of India. Coz the whole idea of associating or judging a nation based on a few incidents is flawed.
Its unfortunate that your mindset is being driven by a few hundred YouTube videos. Bad elements are as equally a part of any society as the good elements. In low or high amounts, they will vary from country to country based on the population, development and opportunities in different sectors.
I would even go on to the extent of saying that having such prejudice against a particular section of people is, at its very root, a form of racism and nothing more.

I would not go on to change your mindset here. But it was important to clear my stand on why I have disliked your comment. I'm out on this.

Sorry, it is far far more than a few incidents. The truth is scamming and big scam call centers are in act a MAJOR INDUSTRY in INDIA.

From UK Economic Times: US warns 'India-based call centre scam industry' The fraud calls originating from India that are received by millions of Americans are hurting the country's reputation as a hub for back office, tech support and call centre operations.

So @Ankit Puri did you see the edited 4 posts, 2 removing accusations? Note: Last edited "today at 12:23am", today is Thursday in the Western hemisphere. One of which was to close down this thread.

The modified and changed post above regarding your credit card “Marked as compromised”, the question remains who made this determination: the bank or the merchant?

Kindly, start another thread about unsolicited whois callers and fake US Phone numbers used. This is off topic and disrespectful to an entire Country.

I have done business with lots of people from India without any problems (also here on NP) and of course no one can be judged on the basis of a hole country's reputation

It is a dispute between two individuals. I hope an amicable resolution will be reached soon. I humbly request you to please do not drag our country India into this, especially if you’re not an Indian. It is highly disrespectful. There are so many Indians into domaining and you may not have heard any history of frauds by any of them. If you wish I can name the top domainers of the country here and they have nothing to do with this event/auction.

Though I am not a domainer myself but I am closely associated with the domaining community in India as I was one of the original co-founder /organizing team member of DomainX back in 2014. It was conceptualized as a community initiative which later turned into a sole proprietorship as I and other founding team members left in 2014 itself.

I request @NamePros Admin / Moderator to kindly delete this comment.

    Kind regards,
    Sibtain Zaheer

I believe the India domainers on NP are all honest and trustworthy and never meant to imply anything different or be disrespectful and I apologize over it. However, your time could be better spent on helping to wipe-out all the India Scam call centers which give the nation a poor international reputation. see below:

...the truth is scamming and big scam call centers are in fact a MAJOR INDUSTRY in INDIA.

Lol, it is same like advising an American gentleman to stop being warmonger.

Thank you for your response. As a common citizen of the country, it is not my responsibility to catch the criminals. There are full-fledged Economic Offences Wings & Cyber Crime Cells in police departments of all states in India and they do take action whenever a complaint is received by them. Such scam call centre outfits have been raided and perpetrators have been arrested in the past. Sometimes these types of crimes remain undetected for long as it is a large country - more than 4 times population in comparison with USA. BTW, one of the largest cyber scam of recent times FB-Cambridge Analytica didn't originate from India.

There are more than (2) people involved in this dispute, I guess you didn’t read the entire thread? There are at least 5 individuals/entities. OP, Ankit plus the others involved in the sale side.
