This thread is to share domains you've Won at Auction or Bought at Closeout

Closeout = After auction but before completely dropping from registrar and before going into redemption.

I *HIGHLY* suggest to post only after the domain is transferred *INTO* your account!

Go here if it's a domain you bought that was available at anytime for "hand registration": Your Reg of the Day
Go here if it's a domain you snapped / "drop-catched" after "Pending Delete": Your Snap of the Day

Feel free to disguise the domain like Slash // dot // com or any o|t|h|e|r w a y you want.
IMPORTANT: *If* someone does disguise their name, please respect them by quoting them directly, or copy/paste them directly.

Things to optionally include (or just simply post the domain name):

  1. What you paid for the domain(s), or the price range, or no price info at all.
  2. Any information, reasons or hard data (traffic, CPC, etc) that lead you to buy the domain(s).
  3. Where (or who) you acquired the domain from.
  4. How many other bidders there were.
  5. Whether the domain was "expired" or not.
  6. Whether the domain was at "closeout" or not.
  7. The history of the domain.
  8. What you see the domain being used for.
  9. Who a potential buyer could be.
  10. Anything else you want to share .. these are just possible ideas not "rules" ;)

Happy to announce I made two nice sales on Wednesday (one Afternic and one Sedo) .. I'll try to report them (and others I haven't yet) in the next week or so after the funds hit my account. In the meantime, here are some more acquisitions ...

FlyingHorsemen // dot // com (2002)
Really cool sounding brand for just about anything!

HardwoodAmerica // dot // com (2005)
National brand for a huge $$$ industry!

WinningCommunications // dot // com (2000)
Amazingly strong aged media name!

WindCzar // dot // com (1999)
Although Solar has been in the limelight the last few years, it's little brother wind is another surging energy sector. Very few keywords demonstrate knowledge and experience more than "czar"! :)

VidaDiva.com - really liked the symmetry, the sound of it, the positiveness of the words and the meaning in combo (Life Girl)
Lonelle.com - a name
I remember those .. some of the nice ones I almost didn't post on my shared lists because I wanted to keep for myself .. lol .. but my portfolio is overflowing and I need to get more organised before buying too many more domains so I've really cut back on purchases these days! Good gets! :)

Some of my recent acquisitions are:
Spiderfunds.com - Finance
MichiganPay.com - Finance
ThaiAnalytics.com - For a tech company
YipCoin.com - Crypto currency
OceanGrower.com - Aquaculture, new technologies
I purchased all of these from the daily lists @Ategy.com provides. Thanks for these! I also appreciate your descriptions and rationale for the new sites you've acquired.

My pleasure @J Sokol .. glad to see people finding my NameCult lists helpful .. I had my first TWO-SALE day this week .. I still have soooo much work to do on my oversized portfolio .. but I'm looking forward to a really strong 2019! Wishing the same for all of you as well! :)

Thanks! I find that we share similar taste for names :) Sometimes, there are names that I like and I hope they don't make to your list ;)

I have similar problem as well ) I have bought over 1000 names in last 6 months from GD auctions, that is around 7 a day.

What is your portfolio size currently?

@Recons.Com .. I have a little under 2000 domains .. although I really would like to trim it down to about 1000 given the fact I'm not doing this full time. Although I said the same thing last year .. lol .. I'm very happy with my portfolio at this point though, and I'm making sales (just got $$$$ for one in my account today) despite not really having my own portfolio as organised as it should be. Ideally I should either wholesale about half my portfolio .. OR .. leave my real world job and start domaining full time!? lol

RushmoreMedia // dot // com (2006)
Even though I'm a Canadian, I recognise the "Rushmore" keyword as being an extremely patriotic American keyword. This media brand is really a no brainer! :)

MortgageRebel // dot // com (2007)
At first some might think these two keywords don't go together. However, with thousands of mortgage companies out there, there certainly is a segment of clients of this trillion dollar industry that's looking for the rebelious companies willing to undercut the others. I'm very happy with this name.

PokerMonthly // dot // com
Poker is a massive business both online and in the real world. This is beyond the perfect name for a monthly magazine!

SolarPowerSpecialist // dot // com (2011)
Solar is such an explosive growth industry at the moment and likely will be for at least the next decade. This is one of those cases where a 3-word domain far surpasses most 2-word domains!

ElectroshockTherapy // dot // com (1999)
Despite what most people envision as being some crazy freak tests with wires going into your brains straight out of 80's movies like Ghostbusters, Electroshock Therapy still is a thing (and actually seems to experiencing a resurgence coupled with updated technologies). There is absolutely massive amounts of money and profits in scanning/imaging medical services.

Very happy with my domains lately .. here's a few more! :)

AdrenalineLabs // dot // com (2010)
Just an amazing brand for a multitude of potential end users. Any company or agency that wants to exude a feeling of strength and power absolutely needs this name!

GeniusBay // dot // com
Another super strong brand open to a multitude of potential industries. Consulting for almost any industry, advertising, marketing, media, tech support, etc etc etc

EpicTrucks // dot // com (2011)
Perfect for a truck listing website or just about anything to do with premium trucks!

KarmaVR // dot // com
Because at some point someone will definitely want to brand a VR world as Karma!

StainLift // dot // com (2007)
Nice keyword marketing domain in a monster industry!

StudentsInAction(.)com
From your list @Ategy.com
Glad so many of you are finding my daily lists so useful!

TitanTherapy // dot // com
An absolutely perfect name for a sports/athletic physiotherapy chain.

BoldTitan // dot // com
Super strong brand open to just about any industry.

PawPub // dot // com
I might keep this one as it's the ideal name for a dog friendly bar!

TurnkeyLabs // dot // com
Another one I totally love because it's very versatile while at the same time being extremely strong for any sort of agency or service that wants to give the impression that they do everything from A to Z for potential customers.

DragonDebit // dot // com
Love the sound of this financial/transaction industry domain. Not only does it sound cool, but the alliteration also makes it very phonetically strong. Bonus that it includes "Dragon" as it opens a lot of possibilities with oriental markets.

ThemeDragon // dot // com (2012)
Another great Dragon name. Wordpress and other CMS themes and templates are huge business. Really like this one!

RebateArmy // dot // com (2011)
Great brand for a Groupon type site.

MJRepublic // dot // com (2013)
Really nice Cannabis brand (MJ = Marijuana). Good for not just products, but a nice name for a forum or something else social in nature.

SonicMafia // dot // com (2010)
I absolutely love this domain for a music production company or agency. If I was still DJing I'd definitely keep this one for myself!

PeakBiology // dot // com (2009)
Great name for a biotech company. Particularly those in genetics and life extension sciences.

NewsletterNinja // dot // com (2011)
Fantastic alliteration domain for a newsletter service.

GeniusGrowth // dot // com (2013)
Awesome alliteration name for a finance or mutual fund company.

DroneAssault // dot // com (2010)
Love this one for a video game or movie. Weaponized drones are probably the scariest thing coming sooner than people think .. and far more frightening than people think.

FiscalLabs // dot // com
Labs is a super hot keyword. Combine that with finance and it's truly an amazing domain.

PriceSlam // dot // com (1999)
Great name for an eCommerce site that wants to be known for best pricing.

DoYouHaveAMinute // dot // com (2003)
The absolute perfect brand for a polling company. I really love domains like this. Mainly because they are indeed great .. but also because they are hard to find and most people miss them when applying their usual search filters to expiration lists. So I can usually grab them without much or even any competition. When you manually go through most of the daily lists like I do to produce the lists at NameCult, you'll definitely end up with a few hidden gems like this one!

DailyPlaylist // dot // com
Another domain I really love that invites potential users to come back again each day to listen to new podcasts or music or videos or whatever the future owner of this brand chooses.

PremierPavers // dot // com (2008)
Tons of money in pavement and asphalt. Plus "Premier" is a top notch adjective that makes for a great sounding alliteration domain.

HardDriveExperts // dot // com (2006)
There is absolutely huge money in data recovery. Nothing more than the pain of losing old files, music, or more significantly, personal photos and videos of irreplaceable memories.

PurpleYeti // dot // com (2010)
Not a typical color+animal combination, but I like it because Yeti is very short and overall it makes for a good fun memorable name and logo.

PaladinComputers // dot // com (1998)
Nice aged two decades old cool sounding computer domain.

EffectiveStorytelling // dot // com (2008)
Story names seem to be doing very well these days for content creation companies. While this one is a bit longer, it is pinpoint on target for how these companies would like to be seen by potential customers. Really like tihs one!

MarvelousMortgages // dot // com (2003)
Alliteration brand for one of the best keywords. Definitely a great domain!

AcupuctureForum // dot // com (2003)
Acupuncture is a really big and growing industry. I'm surprised this industry forum domain hasn't yet been developed.

SelectPearls // dot // com (2004)
Every now and then my Facebook feed shows me a live video of people doing some kind of live lottery where people win different kinds of pearls. Made me think there's a big demand for them as there is for almost everything else in the jewellery business. I really like the "select" prefix with this one as the combined name really sounds perfect!

RocketMultimedia // dot // com (2003)
When you're looking for help making a video or other media content to help your company take off who are you going to turn to to help your business take off? "Rocket" Multimedia of course .. lol .. this is indeed an amazing media brand!

Dajix // dot // com (2013)
A cool and techie sounding 5L that could be used by almost any business.

Also note that I've reported another sale here: Decibel

AmazingSuits // dot // com (2006)
There are huge markups in business suits .. even more if they are "Amazing Suits"! :)

IvyLeagueMD // dot // com (2005)
Ivy League refers to a grouping of very high class universities like Harvard, Princeton and Yale. So this prestigious brand works perfectly for any doctor(s) coming out of these schools.

Kimbelina // dot // com (2004)
Nice fun female first name .. you really cannot go wrong with domains like these.

IconicCigars // dot // com (2010)
I like the "Iconic" prefix when it comes to something that ties to be classy like cigars .. give the semblance of being extra classy.

ExpertPlastics // dot // com
Plastic is an absolutely colossal industry. Pretty much everything we buy contains or is packaged by plastic. This is a seriously monster brand!

SpectacularWebDesign // dot // com (1998)
Spectacular and well aged (from 1998) brand for a web development agency.

UrgentLending // dot // com
So much money and competition in payday loans. What's great about this brand is that it works both for payday loans and for conventional bank type loans. Either way, people who need loans urgently are likely to be willing to pay higher interest to get out of a short term jam.

WalletSetup // dot // com
Long term crypto growth faces a few obstacles .. but one of the biggest is the technical hurdle in that the average person has no clue how to get bitcoin even if they actually wanted any. This has the potential to be a huge lead generator.

PerpetualSun // dot // com (2011)
An absolutely brilliant brand for a solar company!

GoldenPretzels // dot // com (2005)
Yummy yummy in my tummy! Golden is the ideal colour for pretzels!

Accurate/Drug/Testing // dot // com (2002)
With Cannabis becoming legal in more and more jurisdictions, police forces everywhere are looking for better accuracy for road-side testing. Accuracy is proving to be a big problem, so any company who can lay best claim to being accurate has a huge advantage.

CSR247 // dot // com (2004)
Customer Service Representative 24/7. Pretty much the perfect brand for an outsourcing call center company that caters to companies that need their help phone lines open 24/7. Massive money in such contracts.

Am I the only person buying domains at Auction and Closeout? lol .. It's getting lonely in this thread!

Anyhow .. if this thread continues to be inactive I'll probably start posting in the generic less specific buy thread and then maybe only post bulk posts back here (the opposite of what I'm doing now).

MightyDrones // dot // com (2013)
Where you go to buy drones that don't fall apart in 3 km per hour winds!

WiseTreats // dot // com (2008)
Love this as a pet food brand. Pretty much every vegan pet owner are likely to be just as picky in terms of food quality for their dogs or cats as they are for themselves. Add to that the fact that pet treats are known for having crap in them, and with that fact having a word like "wise" in your brand can make a huge impact and difference.

CoatPros // dot // com
Countless millions of coats are sold every year. Global warming is real .. but it's not going to change the fact that it still gets damn cold a few months a year in many corners of the world. People will still need coats for at least a few more years!

JeuxDeHasard // dot // com (1999)
This means "Games of Chance" in French. So effectively it's the perfect gambling name for an online casino.

VerifiedInfluencers // dot // com
With the explosion of social influencing, advertisers are going to be getting increasingly weary of being sure their money is going to influencers who have legitimate traffic and clout. I'm guessing there already are agencies representing these personalities, but it's only the beginning with lots of growth to come .. this brand is a great name for such a company who wants potential clients to have a strong feeling of trust towards them.

DogTrackingSystem // dot // com (2004)
I'm not usually a fan of three-word key-word domains, but I most certainly am if there are solid stats behind them. In this case it's an exact-match monthly search volume of 5400 with a PPC of $2.70 (=$14.5k monthly search value). Can't really go wrong with that if you get it at the right price (which I obviously did .. lol). More importantly is that pet owners are pretty crazy when it comes to getting gadgets for their pets (you should see the all shewed up squeaky squirrels Steamie has all over my place .. lol). Most trackers have nice high $xx or low $xxx sales prices with good mark-ups .. so fairly good business .. if you can get the traffic with a good meaningful domain like this one.

SolarIgnition // com

I got this from your list a couple of days ago, @Ategy.com. I didn't realize solar ignition was a "thing", but it is -- and it fits nicely in the renewable energy niche that seems to be getting more and more crucial for all of us.
