Hello guys.
Yesterday I was watching an auction for an expire domain name at Godaddy.
The auction ended with No bids, as you know it should automatically convert after few minutes to closeout domain, but it doesn't.
Any ideas with thanks?
Regards

What was the name? Using private registration now?

It'll be for sale in a about a week.

No it is not private registration
But as Whois, the name servers:
ns1.domainhasexpired.com
ns2.domainhasexpired.com

Maybe someone snagged it already, or you have to wait.

Godaddy sells names before they expire. It will move to a new account in a few days. If it's not listed in closeout, it's sold.

What's the name?

someone grabbed it before you, that's just the nature of the markets now.

Sounds like it got closeout sniped, I do it often. Auction ends with no bids, then snipe it before anyone else.

Or it could have been renewed by an owner who was watching to see what would happen.

@jamaltq It's possible that somebody grabbed it before you. But giving you the benefit of the doubt that you would have been the first to the domain, it would be a GoDaddy Backorder was put on the the domain while it is in auction. The backorder would have picked up the domain between the regular auction and the closeout auctions. About the only thing a GoDaddy Backorder is capable of catching.

@DomainVP Why would an owner want to renew a domain which has 0 bids and no value? If they wanted it that much, they could have just renewed it whilst it was in auction.

OP wanted it, therefore it had value to someone else.

Maybe it still had value to the owner.

Maybe the owner didn't want to risk it going to closeout for some reason after the auction ended. It's not the most logical reason, but it's something that happens.

1. The actual owner would not have know the OP was waiting in the wings when he rewed it.
2. If it actually had any value to the owner he would have renewed it much earlier.
3. Yep. This is the most likely reason it never went to closeout. Somebody had a backorder on it.

All your reasons sound possible but seem incredibly unlikely ;)
