Domains by Proxy is Driving me Insane!

I went to renew a couple of my domain names this morning. When I tried to renew them Godaddy slaps the privacy registration on them automatically as a checkmark that I cannot uncheck. How in the world can I renew these without the extra cash? I never wanted the domain privacy to begin with but they came free when I first registered them... Probably should not have done that in hindsight. Tried logging into their Domains by Proxy page and it did not work. Does it require different log in information?

Hi, Unfortunately it does require different login info for the Privacy.

From Godaddy Domain Manager beside the domains in question, click the privacy icon
possibly a saved password there from last login? If not you will need to contact
then either phone or email/support - in order to remove this service if you can't get logged in yourself.

Tried logging into their Domains by Proxy page and it did not work. Does it require different log in information?

It is supposed to be almost the same info as GD - DBP send you an email with a reference every time you apply Privacy to a name.

If you can't log in at DBP, it does have a procedure there to send help to the email address associated with the DBP account, but as I recall it is not obvious - try clicking various menus at DBP till you get the one for forgotten passwords. HTH.

Out of curiosity I just tried to login to mine using Godaddy info - and it didn't work
but here is the link https://www.domainsbyproxy.com/Default.aspx

when you click the LOGIN button it opens up a popup for you to login through
but also contains the "Lost Password" link

When you initially choose DBP for a domain, you are given an option to use an existing DBP account or create a new one.
If you choose new, then a unique usn and psw will be created for that domain.
You can consolidate all accounts on the DBP website if you end up with different credentials for each domain.
That way you can login once to access all domains.
