Is GoDaddy squeezing domain renewals?

I can't find any discounts that work on renewals with Godaddy. Most of my domains that need renewing (which are close to expiring) were originally bought with free or low priced privacy. When I have tried to renew I can't find any way to delete the privacy option that is automatically added. With no discounts thats $18 per renewal with the privacy which is added at the full price, and that's using bulk. I decided to transfer and renew to another registrar. After over a week and unlocking the domains twice, Godaddy will not approve the transfer. Watch out folks!

i use the same discounts as for registering, from the godaddy loophole thread, each COM or NETrenewal costs me around $6.70

To remove your privacy, go to "Manage Domains," click on "Manage Privacy," and enter your Domains By Proxy account number and password. Then you can select which domains you want to remove privacy from.
