It also keeps out those that are rather large, do well, have the money like that for their domain biz, but who think the price is nuts for what you get...Its a two-edged sword :imho:

with prices like that will keep most every one out!

id assume this to be pretty empty @ $1000 just to go to the dam thing? and 30 k for a booth D-:
what are they gonna be throwing 4 letter domains like beads and coconuts or something? throw me something mister
i dont fully understand what the event is about other than a domainer convention!
what will take place? (other than sum speeches/ talking and advertisers trying to sell you their ish!)
i think they need to revamp and revise !
Id consider going being im kinda tired of regular mardi gras they arent the same now they were much better when i was in high school !

that's officially THE most expensive booth price i've heard for any type of event, domaining or otherwise.

I have a feeling most of the people hosting domainer conferences make more from hosting conferences than 99% of us do from domaining :guilty:

Nothing against them -- business is business and I'm glad they found something that works for them. If people are willing to pay the 30k, why not charge it? I was watching the news here in Canada and apparently Rolex sales are doing well despite two large price increases this year -- not everyone is hurting for cash.

Few NPers can afford to attend, after all those late-night "what was I thinking" regges and all those renewals. The few that could afford it...always show-up too drunk to accomplish anything anyway :p

My suggestion for The Official NamePros Convention:

Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada
Live Auction, Speakers, Networking
After-Party with NPQueen, mis_chiff, and mellowmasher :lala:

Mark Cuban, someone who's achieved 50 times the financial success anyone in this business has, said a couple months ago that people become CEOs of companies to make themselves rich, that people run hedge funds to make themselves rich,...

I guess you can see where I'm going with this -- It's not about helping the company, the investors, the consumers,...

While there are some good people at the top, most care about fattening their wallet, not helping you, me, or anyone else get ahead. That's reality. Not directing my comments at any specific domain conferences, just calling it as I see it.

Just like a brokerage. $30K for a booth w/ $795 entry reminds me of AIG. Sounds like a typical corp bash for existing clients. Wallstreet wannabes blowing smoke up somebody's a**.

I'm mean what's the point?! Hell, nevermind it's a right off right? :sold:

I can only see it being worth it if your trying to sell something to someone bigger there. Maybe try sell a top name to someone there.
