Hi,

I've requested a domain transfer. Current domain admin received the e-mail. He approved the transfer and released the domain as he said. But I'm getting this message: Domain transfer initiated and awaiting approval.

What does this mean?
How long more will the transfer take?
Is there anything I or the admin has to do now?

Waiting for your reply...

usually it's within the hour or 2 after the previous owner approves of the transfer to another owner, it should appear on your domain registrar im speaking of my experiences with godaddy, moniker, namecheap, namepros im not sure about other registrars

You just have to wait.

My last transfer into Namecheap took 5 days excluding weekends. You just need to wait for the first registrar to release the domain and the second one to take it out.
Really you're only waiting for the first company to release it, it does take up to 5 working days though.

Ohh I see. I guess then there is nothing left for me to do than waiting... This is what I don't like. :(

Thanks a lot you guys.

5-7 days is the standard period.

Are there any chance that the transfer is not going to work? Or it's confirm?

it probably means that the receiving part must accept the transfer from his registrar login area. if you are the receiving party and have received an email eg from godaddy, then you need to accept AND complete the acceptance by going to checkout.

Probably?? You made me more confused.

I already have checked out and nothing is there for me to accept inside my login area. It's namecheap btw, and I have not received any email yet after checking out.

probably...because we did not know before which registrar you are using.
send an email to namecheap and ask next step. they are helpful.

I apologize for not mentioning the registrar. I did email them the day before yesterday, but I got no reply yet.

what is the time elapse? if the transfer is between 2 different registrars, you should allow a week before fretting.

It's been 3 or 3.5 days only. Actually I never transfered a domain before and I want to make sure everything goes ok since this domain is my favorite.

Hello fr600,

Go ahead and send me a p.m. with the domain you are inquiring about and I will look into it for you and provide you an update on the current status. If you have resolved this, please still p.m. the domain name so that I may investigate as to why there has been a delay in response to your support ticket.

Regards,
Michael K.

You got only the approval from the owner of that domain name now your new registrar waiting for the approval from the old registrar. It will take 3 to 5 days. Hostingsetion.com

Is the old registrar (aitdomains) now going to send email to the old admin to confirm the approval? If that so, I may need to inform the old admin.

EDIT: Michael K. said that I don't need to do anything. So I'm not worried anymore.
