Someone initiated a transfer of one of my names via godaddy, and godaddy now wants me to click to confirm or deny the transfer.

Would it be okay to ignore this notice? What happens if I neither confirm nor deny the request?

I would have to second that kaliboy2g, they should be able to release some sort of contact information while a transfer has been initiated.

the .us domain requires an auth code to do the transfer. If you originally registered it, they would have no way of knowing and it could be extremely difficult to hack. If you acquired the name and did not change the auth code, do so quickly since the last owner could have given it to someone. I think if the registrar changes, the auth code is automatically changed, but have not been able to confirm that for sure.

.us domain cannot usually be "locked" as previously suggested since they use auth codes instead.

If that is the person, he may not have nexus to own a .us domain anyway. Looks like French to me.

Thanks, RJ.

As a result of my email to GD support, GD sent an email to the requestor, declining the transfer. I'm copied in that email, so I went ahead and shot one myself. He appears to have an @nyu.edu email address. Maybe he's jean-claude jr?

maybe this happened i actually had this happen by mistake , you try and register the name , then on the registeres it doesnt state its not available it goes straight into saying transfer this domain to your account balbal bal and at the bottom says if you own it well some of us just hit the button transfer when we actually think we are buying it, its really easy on 1and1.com to do that
,im sure if he is a famous musician he has better things to do than try to steal the name wolff he propbobly was checking mixtakenly tranfered

Like I said, I just remembered hearing it somewhere. :guilty:

I remember that too, when the ICANN rules changed, that if you dont respond, it goes through, or something to that effect and that was why the big push to LOCK dn's.... but maybe I had the same dream as Scott.

Maybe this is who your looking for. http://www.jeanclaudewolff.com/
