It will be an interesting auction, There are alot of super premuim names, Then there are super bad names, Hopefully the bad names, Like GrannyKnot.com, will throw the bidders into a frenzy over the nice names, Best of luck to the NPers here that made the cut, Hoping for all of you nice $$$$$'s :)

you've got to be kidding! "Lack of Quality Names" ??
rebates.com ? realnames.com ? invention.com ? villas.com ? how.com ? lovestories.com ? orlandotravel.com ? character.com ? Autobiography.com ? Dreaming.com ? Hot.tv ? PerfectVision.com ? DrPoker.com ?
to name a few .... ! ! ! !

Gramma,

I think your domain, HotDestinations.com is a killer name! Seriously, I could see that going for quite a bit. Who knows, maybe I'll be the buyer :)

which also seems to show by the votes on them, 300+ of them had more bad votes than good but they are still there.

Hi gazzip,

Where do you find the voting info on the domains?

I didn't place any votes so don't know if that's how you can see the tally.

Thanks.

well that would be cooler than polar bear spit Giode !!
Thanks :)

I had others I thought were reallly good that didn't make the list too - and had one kicked off the list. None with very high reserves made the list.

Hi - I don't know if its still possible to vote now but if you log in to your account and look at the current list you will see good / bad at the right hand side - If you can still click either one you can see what the count is for both, then you can still choose to unvote if you want to.

It does'nt show the total, you would need to compare the good / bad individually on each domain which I did late yesterday before posting.

I can still vote or unvote in mine right now

eg - Grannyknot shows Good: 4 | Bad 102

keep in mind that maybe some people were voting bad to try and improve their chances as mentioned by someone earlier ???

I did'nt

So, I have a message on my account that says "Your Domains are Almost in the Auction" & to fax the agreement to DomainTools. But, there is no indication that any of my listed domains made it into the auction.

Anybody else get this message from them?

edit: now the message is gone...

Near the bottom of my agreement was a list of the names that made it.

Also, It's likely that a few may have second thoughts due to underpricing or some other reason and may not send their contract. I wonder if they have a secret list kind of waiting to fill in the blanks when that happens.

Also, I think they put a lot more work into this than some might think. Before listing it appears they did reg date searches, google page counts, overture checks, and whatever was used in their scoring algorithm. I think they probably did a lot more research than many who voted good or bad. I know they rejected some fair to good names also because the reserves were unrealistic. I may have been a little unrealistic on some of mine that weren't accepted, because I think some of my rejected domains are better than the ones accepted.

Picking 450 out of a list of 30k would be a difficult task when weighing the likelihood of a sale based on the reserves, which were often changed as the submission process progressed. I guess we'll see how well they did next week.

wouldn't that be neat....
I submitted 51 names --- some say pending review...
some say nothing... guess mine were overlooked...

I only had a small list available to submit (others are committed for sales elsewhere alread) - - - here's the batch from DomainBELL.com that I

There seems to be a lot of unrealistic expectations in there, imho. But we shall see.

I think that happened on several of my domains too. But no worries, I got enough in the auction to be satisfied. I don't see how some reasonable two-word combos got voted out big-time at only the minimum reserve when other domains remained with unrealistic reserves, imho. But we are all entitled to our opinions :)

Does anybody have a link to sign up to Bid via online for the auction? I know DT has stated it will be on DomainTools.com but I still do not see any sign up to bid and it's only 6 days out. I have several of my customers interested in bidding, but there is no place that I have seen to apply to bid, or to register.

Received email to print and fax back agreement at 10:14 PM last night August 10th. Email states form must be faxed back by the close of August 10th...nice one. Of course I wasn't checking my email that late at night so NO I didn't get to fax back the form within the 1 hour and 46 minutes they gave me. I don't have a fax machine at home anyways. :|

I was thinking they did it to prune the names and allow later submissions...it's not a premium name like some of the others so I'm going to pass.

I got a SECOND request last night- i had sent mine in after receiving the first one monday. There was some discussion on this board about emails not received - and suggestions to check above your list of submitted domains. There has been a link in the domaintools control panel for the agreement since earlier this week. You could also sign scan and email the agreement.

I am so sorry you didn't get the information in time. i was so obsessively reloading the page and checking for posts - no way was I going to miss any info. It was a little pitiful on my part ha ha.
Congrats on the sale in the moniker silent auction tho!

Hi,

You are not alone!

I received the notice at 11:20 PM.

I just happened to log on to my email at 11:35 and saw the notice. As I did
not have a printer on that PC I had to wait until this morning to respond.

I did email Jay about the late notice last night and included a copy of his email with full headers so he could see the time his email arrived.

I do expect Jay to honor my contract under the circumstances.

Please contact Jay and request the same.

Patrick
