The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
What names has everyone submitted, and how did they score using DT's automated system?

The automated scoring seemed fun to play with so I tried a handful of names that I thought would be worth 1k+. Ended up with one at 829, three in the 700's, 13 in the 600's, 8 in the 500's, and one in the 400's. A few others got a low or no rating so I removed them.

I'm not big on name selling, but I'm going to let these ones ride and see if any get selected for the auction. Looks like Jay has done a great job putting this event together.

What does the score mean??? Is there a score we should be looking for before submitting? e.g. anything that scores under 500 is not worth submitting?

Do you work for them eg-domains ?

I was curious and tried a few names and most of them showed a score of around 600 which I'm guessing is not that great.

How/where do you go to log in and see if any of them have been accepted ?

Thanks

"Only 450 domains will make the cut off. "

I'm assuming the score is one of the factors taken into consideration there. The reserve is probably the other.

Is there an ongoing contract required to have a name in the DomainTools auction?

I had 2 that did better than 700, nothing over 800, the rest that I submitted were in the 600's....

Im curious to see how this one pans out.

Heh, that is kinda fun to play with. I think I know which of your names got 829, because my similar name got that exact score too. It's funny the names that get low scores...like Shizzles.com got 102, lol.

I thought you sold dreamdesign.com already, did it not go through?

I had 4 over 700..

egressor(.)com 739
ggcc(.)com 738
cheviots(.)com 716
primespas(.)com 704

I couldn't remove any of my submittals (:

Since only top 450 are going to make it, and not knowing all the criteria for selection, My guess is you'd need at least high 600's or even 700+ to make it on point score alone (even if that is possible).

I couldn't find one. It would be nice to see what their terms and conditions are.

The sale fell through - actually quite rediculous from the buyer. So, its back on the market.

It was fun to play with. I got all the domains in the 600's:
justliving com 692
ecuf com 661
falsifications com 642
jurc com 641
occultsites com 629
rightahead com 609

don't think any of these will make the cut, as it will be pretty exclusive I suppose.

Keep in mind, even if your domain scores well, if it's less than 3 years old then it won't get accepted.

Im curious to see which if any of mine would be accepted.

Hi,

No contract.

From the Domain Tools blog:
http://blog.domaintools.com/2007/07/domain-roundtable-auction-process/

"Jay, some well thought out ideas. I didn’t see anything in your post about a contract and terms though. Is there a contract that sellers will have to sign? If so what is the time commitment? Other places lock you down for months...

UPDATE BY JAY: We are not going to lock people into contracts for months. This should be a free market so people are free to come and go after the auction is over and no one bid on the domain."

(Bolding by me).

Most of them are LLLL.com and two-words .com but they all scored +600

two-words .com like :

localhead.com 660
bookssites.com 649
swiftinvestment.com 623
superdiscussion.com 619
feelya.com 618
thespacechannel.com 616
kingofgifts.com 604
submitmypage.com 603

i know there are a lot of better domains submitted and 450 domains only will make the cut off but still feel good about it.
