Maybe you can shed some light on my problem. I'm a "bit" of a newbie so maybe you will know something that I don't.

I was on TDNAM and found a great name in the 10 day auction. So, I waited for it to go on Firesale because as GoDaddy states: "This option is available after the normal 10 day auction ends. Any auction of an expired domain name that doesn't receive a winning bid will go into the Firesale period." There was no winning bid (I made sure of it) yet, the name did not go into Firesale!

This has happened to me twice within the past month and I am so sick of it! GoDaddy says that if there is no winning bid, it will go into Firesale so how come it is not going into Firesale??? I do not understand and I am incredibly upset. I lost two potentially great names due to trusting their service.

Has this happened to anyone? Does anyone know why this happens? It's so frustrating!

So where is the domain? Did someone buy it? I don't know what the rules are, but if the domain is really good, they may have kept it out of the Firesale. Sorry, but with GD I would not be surprised. Try using Domaintools.com to see what is going on with the domain. You can also "monitor" a domain as it expires and is later dropped when it can be registered by anyone (if they get to it first).

the domain changes its ITEM id etc once it goes in to firesale. therefore that old link wil not take u to the 5$ auction

u will have to search again in the search box for the name and then u might find it as a 5$ bin domain

It could have gone to a godaddy backorder instead. There are also some people waiting until seconds after it goes to firesale and buying, so it may have disappeared in that short time to another purchase.
