12 months ago we had a thread called Domain Industry Predictions for 2006 going.

I had to take a look at my predictions for the last year:

- 5 reported sales over $1,000,000 @ DNF (+ undisclosed sales)

- 3 reported sales over $1,000,000 @ dnjournal.com (typo in original post):

Diamond.com @ $7,500,000
Vodka.com @ $3,000,000
Cameras.com @ $1,500,000

- Sedo will report several mid/high $xx,xxx ccTld sales

- Accoring to dnjournal.com Sedo reported 5 ccTld sales over $40,000.

Städtereisen.de @ €50,000 = $60,168
Ich.de @ €40,000 = $48,451
OnlineCasino.eu @ €36,500 = $46,748
Online-Gambling.co.uk @ €35,000 = $44,657
TheCube.co.uk @ £22,000 = $40,919

Also please note 3 sales not at Sedo:

NAV.no @ 4,375,000NOK = $717,978
Blackjack.de @ $300,000
Lyrics.co.uk @ $80,000

(NAV.no is posted as sold on Sedo but this was a private sale.)

- Several PPC parking companies will close down business

- I actually think the number of PPC parking companies has grown.

- IDN popularity/prices increases

- I don't have any stats or numbers to show but I belive IDN popularity and prices has increased.

- I'll finally be able to quit my f*cking day job! =)

- Done! =)

- At least 3,500,000 registered .eu domains

- As I write this there is 2,450,790 registered .eu domains.

- LLLL.com buyout

- No.

- LLL.com sales minimum $3,000 @ 3character.com

- $3,050 @ 3character.com (December 31st)

- LLL.net sales minimum $600 @ 3character.com

- $680 @ 3character.com (December 31st)

- LLL.us sales minimum $60 @ 3character.com

- $100 @ 3character.com (December 31st)

- LLL.org sales minimum $250 @ 3character.com

- $235 @ 3character.com (December 31st)

- CTR will decrease because surfers hates this sponsored pages

- Mine CTR has decreased but I don't think CTR is down in general.

- I'll have to get some domains developed, but I'm toooo lazy =/

- 13 minisites finished!

- EPC for non US/UK traffic will increase because of more advertisers

- Absolutly!

- I will convince my father to invest in at least 5 new domains (He bought one in 2005 which I couldn't afford)

- I have not even tried to convince him..!

- I'm living in Norway where a beer costs $10 in a bar, so I'm planning on spending at least 1 month in a low cost country

- Did not happen. I spent a week in Paris but that does not count.

- 12 months from now I'll own at least 0,8% of registered .no domains

- I only reached 0,69%


At least the LLL prices I predicted was quite on spot! =)

OOPS . Wrong!

2. LLLL.com will RUN OUT!! Causing an immediate spike on prices.

Wrong again!

3. LL , NN.bz fad will die out, tons dropping.

Wrong again! In fact registry wont allow registrations under 3 characters.

4. Godaddy will still have loopholes

5. .EU landrush will stink as all the premium or even half premium names are already regged by Tms. The other semi gems will be taken up by all the big players.

TRUEE! Yay!

6. .CC will stay as Crap CCTLD

7. www.tv will be releasing at least 25% of their "premium names" down to regular price.

8. damitssam will have LESS domains then he has now

.bz domains do honestly stink. I sold dictionary.bz for only $40..
