Today I tried to register a .com of term I heard on TV. Unfortunately the .com was already registered.
Next, whois info was checked. I literally tried to register this domain, today June 8, 2010, a hour or so before writing this post. Yet the whois date information, copied directly from Namecheap.com is:
Creation Date........ 2010-06-09
Registration Date.... 2010-06-09
Expiry Date.......... 2015-06-09
According, to this it was registered at least one day in the future. How can this be? Is it a time zone thing? In other words, someone, in a part of the world that is greater that 10 hours a head of any North American time zone, registered the domain; thus making their local date June 9 instead of the 8th?
The registrant, admin, and tech all have addresses in the United States Midwest and West respectively; if that makes any difference.
