In March of 2016 @steitieh was found guilty of shill bidding on NamePros with @tha-she. While these two members are no longer permitted to conduct business with each other here, @steitieh is still able to participate in the marketplace and carries an undeserving PRO badge.

Recently, Rami was accused of shill bidding again. However, the evidence is circumstantial, at best, but it's admitted by him that he had close personal acquaintances bid on his auctions โ€“ something that we all know that most other marketplaces would never tolerate.

Beware: if you choose to bid on one of @steitieh 's auctions, know that someone else may be purposefully bidding you up.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
AfternicAfternic
Moral of the story :
It wasn't about the domains.
That's a cute story. I'm sure the good folks at Sedo, GoDaddy, Afternic, Flippa, etc. would empathize with that one as well.

Very interesting read... (this and the other thread about the matter)

Are these 2 users the same person? I think it has been proven that they are not.

So these two people know each other? Yes. They admit to being friends.

Do the bidding increments and patterns look shady? Yes

Would friends benefit from coordinating on bidding in each others auctions? Yes

Is there a third person involved in this? Maybe.

Did NamePros find any evidence of shill bidding? No.

Could these guys be innocent? Yes

Could these guys be guilty? Yes

None-the-less this just stinks of collusion to me. Participating in a friends auctions, raising the bids by a substantial amount, shared payment accounts, hosting accounts, etc.

Friends would not typically participate in public auctions (over and over) with each other when they could just make a deal together.

Way too much circumstantial evidence. But seems there is no concrete proof for NP to act on either way. Though, reading all of this just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Will I be participating in any of these users' auctions? No.

Why not just have steitieh and dnbank-com go on skype with one top level NP staff? This would prove
1. They are two separate people.
2. Rami is completely innocent.

and vice versa......if they can't commit to that. Auto-Close their accounts. Believe it when you see it.

@iAchilles 1. Not having the Actual MONEY at hand, and really NOT having the money are 2 different things, As said, i was the one to blame here, could have uploaded money to paypal and paid for example, instead this is what i choose to do, i didnt "PLAN" on not taking the domains, it just took that course as it seemed easier to me, had i known it would throw up such a wave, id have simply taken the names and paid for them.

And as @Eric Lyon stated, yes, i do believe it was not the only auction at the time i backed out from or "politely" asked to back out from, they all agreed, had one not agreed, i would have 100% paid for the auction as i almost ALWAYS do within hours.

This would have to be immediately set up, as well as the them being in two separate video conferences at different physical locations, simultaneously to even work as intended. People have friends that could sit next to them and agree with everything, but when you separate people, the stories often change and never match up. You know? Real detective work. I fail to see this happening though, but good suggestion. It just has to be done right, if done at all.

Just have them both using the mobile version of skype and get them to walk to their own kitchens at the same time. No one kitchen is the same.

@steitieh @dnbank are life long friends since 2003 acorrding to them. @steitieh provides hosting, scripts and domain advice to @DNBank.com . @DNBank.com bids on worthless domains thousands of dollars. This is key issue here. All @steitieh domains are blown up with shill bids or dumb bids ( whatever u want to call it) @staitieh is a good domainer with experience who gives terrible advice to @DNBank.com to buy his domains from his auction for outrageous prices. Lets do a test, lets have DNBANK sell those domains here on NP in auction without SHILL BIDDING. He will NOT GET $30 for pictured.net which went up to $800. People use your common sense for god sake. All domains from @steitieh auctions will not get any bids unless MORE FRIENDS come from somewhere

@tha-she admitted to having special relationship with @steitieh where she did not have to buy winning domains, he will not report her. Very convinient to have someone bid INSANE bids and not buy domains. Obviously it baloons the prices. Even if they did not have offical shill agreement of some sort. It was unspoken rule, You bid and Rami will not report you if u win. People start using common sense. Domains that were sold are close to worthless for XXXX figures.

No, that would be your 5th shill bid at an auction held by @steitieh. I was unaware of the NNN.me auction that @iAchilles mentioned. I reported you for the following four auctions that you won, but never took control over the domains:
Exactly, how many times did you win an auction and ask Rami to pardon you from payment?

And how exactly do you explain your positive trader score left by Rami on these 4+ auctions when the transactions never took place?
Edit: Rami never left you feedback. This was something else I brought up regarding your pattern of bids and purchases that's considered "confidential" and don't believe that I can share it without receiving an infraction.

I am sure if a 3 way video skype conference was initiated and conducted by a namepros moderator they wouldn't need any schooling.... But i am sure they appreciate your CIA trained input !

That's entirely plausible but unless actual evidence can be made public...nothing will happen. The NP Staff have done what they can. Everyone can smell somethings not right....but you have to find the source of the odor before you can get rid of it. Until that is done, the accused parties are innocent, until proven guilty. IMHO at the very least a skype call would get 1/many ambiguities regarding this whole debacle out of the way and moves things closer to a definitive conclusion.

Its all public facts and was admitted in chat yesterday by the accused parties. Please refer to that thread. I am only stating publicly known facts. The skype idea does not prove anything ever way. We know its different people who shill bid not same guy.

This is a smoking gun here.

This sounds like the kind of response a politician would give. Perhaps you might explain why you didn't ask Rami for a BIN price if you were so friendly with him, but instead opted to get involved in a bidding war, did you want to end up paying more for this name?

And as @Eric Lyon stated, yes, i do believe it was not the only auction at the time i backed out from or "politely" asked to back out from, they all agreed, had one not agreed, i would have 100% paid for the auction as i almost ALWAYS do within hours.

I wonder would Rami have been as forgiving to me if I had backed out of the deal, I'm guessing probably not.

We need ADMINS to answer these accusations. Why those 5 auctions are not a clear example of Rami shill bidding. Please someone defend it

@ksusha64, you forgot to mention that it was not "Countless" domains i just won and simply backed out on as you represent it in the post above. There are tons of domains i did buy, with very few i didnt.

@David Walker, I am sure you would already know, so why dont make it easier and you tell me, cause i dont, ill put this down one last time, Im the one to take the blame as IM the one who asked Rami to not stand on the auctions, in hindsight... was this right? 100% it was NOT, i didnt think about how it looks, NOR did i even think about the fact that if i bid it puts the prices up, at that time i was also very bussy finding names, scanning lists and buying/selling with all the chinese stuff going on, that my attention not only on HES auction took effect on my bidding, i take full blame, i wouldnt know what else i could do from my side.

@iAchilles, 1. The above. 2. As far as im aware, rami had COUNTLESS numbers of people who never paid up. Did i get an edge from him because i spoke to him every now and then? possible.... im 100% positive thou if a person you know asked you if you didnt mind it if he passed on a domain you wouldnt... or maybe you would simply for image, as said.. this far, i did not think. My mistake, i apologize and i hope you can take that with atleast some weight given my everything else i have done on this forum to have a 100% feedback and be integrated into the community.

One or two auctions (two is suspicious tbh), okay, but 5? Please explain how and why this occurred on 5 different occasions?

Please tell us other 'counteless people " who did not pay and did not get reported like you. We know who they are,but would appreciate a list from you. None of those people were reported and have "friends" status as well. So people who were reported by Rami are not shill bidders we know that, but people who were not reported are SHILL BIDDERS? Is this " friendly shill bidding scam"?
