In March of 2016 @steitieh was found guilty of shill bidding on NamePros with @tha-she. While these two members are no longer permitted to conduct business with each other here, @steitieh is still able to participate in the marketplace and carries an undeserving PRO badge.

Recently, Rami was accused of shill bidding again. However, the evidence is circumstantial, at best, but it's admitted by him that he had close personal acquaintances bid on his auctions โ€“ something that we all know that most other marketplaces would never tolerate.

Beware: if you choose to bid on one of @steitieh 's auctions, know that someone else may be purposefully bidding you up.

this is a very real problem in the industry
That doesn't mean this is it. I've read the same information you have. What I'm seeing is David dragging new people into this each time a person is cleared. It comes across as him trying to save face, IMO.

This doesn't pass the smell test IMO, my post shows the proof! #44

Despite the outcome I see where you're coming from @David Walker

Actually it was pictured.net and not .com. You seem confused...
Does that mean busted?
You've never typed .com when you meant .net or .org or .anything? I do it weekly because it's second nature. This is getting ridiculous. The next post is going to be that you think the sunglasses in his picture are stolen because you saw a pair reported on the telly.

I support all that is real and substantial but not this desperation for insubstantial connections that don't exist. I don't support bullying of people without documented proof either. This is not proof:

David Walker says:

I will have to go back and view the ones for @tha-she. But then again, the seller (@steitieh) agreed to cancel the auction when she won. It's highly suspect that he would have done that for anyone else who bid $1 over. So, they're pretty much moot

Ok so I closely looked at one, being an outsider and it was for pictured.net from your link provided.

What I see is a no reserve auction and winning bidder DNBank.com $800.00. But when I look at Whois it's still under "Registrant Name: Rami Steitieh".

This would be a red flag to me too running a auction site myself.

Those whom are disagreeing with David, follow this:

Auction is not yet finished.

@David Walker like said in my previous post:

Since i am here on namepros i have done everything to keep my name as clean as possible, always paid, always pushed, always helped wherever possible, and Im sorry that im just not perfect and always do everything 100%, happens to anyone and everyone ,. and besides that, i got into that because rami was being nice, he could have just told me to beat it, and pay up for it, he didnt... from what i see hes getting blamed here because he was nice to me, which honestly makes me more uncomfortable then all the rest.

If you need to blame someone, BLAME ME... i was the one who ASKED rami to let the deal go and not ask me to PAY up...he did, and all he gets is a load of madness for it, imo thats just not right.

And i really hope that clears atleast this matter up for you, or any others.

I was very suspicious of your bidding pattern on one particular auction. So please explain how you went from bidding up $50 increments to, oh, actually I don't want this name?

https://www.namepros.com/threads/920010

What you're saying doesn't add up, to make matters worse you had the cheek to contact me via pm afterwards to see if I wanted to buy any of your crap.

I looked up whois records a few months afterwards and the domain never made it to your account, why?

All @Eric Lyon has said (if you want to interpret it an UNBIASED fashion), is that @tha-she and @steitieh MAY of engaged in shill bidding, but the evidence did NOT meet the standard of proof. Therefore NP's found them NOT guilty.

Unless you can provide solid evidence. Accept it and move on.

Sorry, but from the posts I have seen here and in the past, all you seem to do, is snitch on people.
It is NOT a good quality !

Please point out to me exactly where you see the words MAY in the following sentence:
Since you two were unable to provide adequate evidence that shill bidding did not take place between the two of you, the rules below have been placed on your accounts and MUST be adhered to for all transactions you partake in on NamePros with anyone.

@David Walker , I was referring to what @Eric Lyon stated in Page 1 of this thread.

In any case, the quotation above still does not confirm ANY shill bidding! Nor, do NP's feel the standard of proof was met, otherwise the sanctions would of been more severe. Yes ?

I think @Eric Lyon clarified NP's position and that should be respected. Especially coming from him.

You are just determined to read it as a sign of guilt in order to justify your allegations. Thats my take.

David you were a NP moderator as I remember. Do you want to revenge from somebody here for some reason ?!

Sure, you can interpret it that way as well. That's the good thing about the English language; neither of us are wrong.

I invite you to participate in @steitieh 's auctions. Surely, there's no more shills the 3rd time around, eh?

There is a difference. One is called defamation and one is NOT !

We figured out DNBANK.com and @steitieh and him using same hosting server in 2011 and now. I give @steintieh credit for admitting they are friends since 2003. I also give @steintieh credit for agreeing to let people detract bids from DNBANK+HIS auctions. As far as I understood he will stop running auctions with his friends bidding. This is a step in the right direction. Please stop personal attacks on David or Rami. Also racial comments have no business in domaining community. Lets keep it factual and solve the issue. The idea is not to ruin someones reputation, but to stop shill bidding now and in the future.

I also give credit to @tha-she for admitting Rami did not make her pay for winning auctions after her outrageous bids on Rami auctions. She takes all the blame for it. I wish more people come out about their perceived shill bidding on Rami auctions. If we accept their explanations then we become less suspicious.

I don't accept her explanation. Who bids an auction up to $300 without having the money at hand to follow through with the deal?

Yet again it emerges that this is another close friend of Rami's, why is it that many of his close friends are bidding up his auctions?

If I wanted a name he had llisted and I was very friendly with him, I'd reach out and request a BIN a price and end the auction there and then to avoid a bidding war, but no, his friends seem to love getting involved in bidding wars, to what end!? So they can acquire the domain for a higher price!? I'm not buying into this explanation.

Let's focus on oh I didn't have the money. Okay, tell me @tha-she do you regularly go shopping and bring items to checkout and then suddenly remember, you don't actually have the money to pay for the goods?

Not at all. In fact, I volunteered to become a moderator of the "beginner's" section of namePros to protect new members as I've spotted some conniving people in the past that I wouldn't want around newbie domainers to take advantage on. I did my time, but it got exhausting speaking on topics and each time, if someone disagreed with my stance, them referring to it being an opinion of namePros and not my own. I decided to step down on my own accord and hold no grudges against anyone.

This post, right here, is a prime example of why I stepped down: You brought up the topic of me being a prior member of the staff, as opposed to having personal opinions and beliefs. While I did track him as a staff member, it's been well known since he was a member that there were questionable patterns on some of his auctions. I did my part as a member of the community. While Eric had every right to warn me for posting the "confidential" material, which I eventually got @tha-she to share, I didn't see it as that way as I used the "Contact NamePros Management" forum as opposed to using our typical means of contact being internal messaging (external to this forum).

But moving on, keep on posting evidence. It'll keep getting damning, and surely, sooner or later, namePros management will take action.

Once upon a time, there were two friends. Sam and Dan had known each other for more than 10 years. Sam used to dabble a bit in domains and got Dan interested in domaining too.

One day a crisis occurs in Sam's life and he was forced to sell his domain assets. In the meantime Dan was figuring out how he could help his friend. He wanted to help his friend without Sam feeling indebted to him.

Dan hit upon a plan. He would start buying his friend's domains. He would buy domains way above what it would normally sell for. This made a few auction watchers uneasy.

During this selloff frenzy, Sam (being a domaining addict) couldn't resist buying a few domains when he felt he had a good deal. This made even more people uneasy.

Sam had one more friend. Her name was Theresa. She came to know about him online during his selloff frenzy. They got talking and she got to know more about the crisis that forced Sam to sell off his domains.

Theresa started wondering how she could help Sam. Eureka... Auctions! Great friends think alike, huh? But there was one catch. Theresa wasn't rich like Dan. In a couple of auctions, she went way above her budget. She had to somehow inform Sam that she was struggling to complete the deal. Sam gave her the easy way out.

End of story.

Moral of the story :
It wasn't about the domains.
