Take a look at the auction thread for IQTT and PFAN.

Two decent 4L's are being auctioned off in the forum ; $500 and $570 respectively.

That is until another user, with minimal activity, made the following bids :
PFAN $600, IQTT $550.

Upon further inspection, it looks like the account that placed that bid has not been active in 4 months, they have bid on a total of 7 auctions ever, 4 out of 7 were posted by OP.

What is your take on this? A coincidental alignment of seller and buyer, or shill bidding at it's finest. Do you think that this happens often?

Interesting. I know Eric will review this and will act swiftly if necessary.

A fact indeed. I don't think people realize how much work the mods actually do in order to maintain the integrity and safety of the forum.

It's looks really weird....especially after reading what was posted in the actual thread.

I saw another auction post over the weekend marked "Under Investigation" by a Mod. I'm fairly new to the forum, but I have websites and I know how challenging it is to keep safe and free of all sorts of bad things.

We do not have eyes and ears everywhere and we try to do our best but we do rely on the help from members like yourself to report.

Again, thank you for shopping at Kmart. I mean NP.

Shilling is rampant. I see it all the time between specific groups of friends. They always bid on each other's and never win. Hmmmm....

I know...I have overpaid many times. I thought it was coincidence but I got wise to it quickly.

I started avoiding those auctions because it would happen over and over again. I thought they were following me!

And the opposite. They don't bid against eachother and cause domains to sell very cheap.

I think maybe auctions should be anonymous bidding. Probably why they do that on GoDaddy. You don't really know who is bidding what. At least not easily.

Shill bidding is coming more and more rampant across all forums and auction platforms.
Many places have banned the use of proxies but NP allows them which allows members to create several accounts each.
There are still ways to detect true I.P's using proxies. You'll be surprised who's who here lol

I only have one account. I know a business account can have one extra...right?

Bid away guys auction is open, and all clear to take your money lol

The mods found no wrong doing, just a whole bunch of coincidences.

Good luck I would rather bid against halvarez anyday, than take my chances at namepros after all that evidence

No further evidence has been found in this matter / It appears that the bidder never honored the past sale, which is why the whois remained the same. Furthermore, the seller never reported the breach of agreement which is why there were no notes. The whois has not updated yet and we have seen screenshots of the sellers domain manager confirming they have possession of both domains.

Thanks,

Thanks,

So RJ Managemnt bid 3 months ago, didn't honour their bid, and finally came back today and bid $1k worth of bids on the OP from previous auction after failing to pay for $38 worth of bids to this same seller 3 months ago...

Furthermore no negative feedback was left.

This party has bid in 7 auctions, roughly 60 percent of their bids were to this sole single seller.

This seller is also Banned from flippa

Bid with confidence
