.Co.Uk is a very popular extension in the UK, but do you see many significant sales?

UK registrar and drop catcher here. Most .uk sales go unreported. You can see mostly reseller sales on DomainLore and end user sales on Sedo from time to time, but that's about it. End users in the UK that target a local audience typically a prefer .co.uk extension to a .com.

I can assure you good UK domains do sell regularly.

Anecdotally I can tell you that many people searching on Google also prefer to click on results that are .co.uk since they know they are local. If that trend developed with .ca it would be a big boost. But I can't say that big investors rushing in creates end user demand, it could just create a bubble as happened with .mobi.
