Yes. I have a Blackberry Pearl with T-Mobile and a data-only plan--unlimited Internet for 29.99 per month. I also have a Cingular powered RAZR for voice (as a part of our family plan it only costs 10.00 per month). The RAZR has internet capabilities, but the browser is poor compared with the BB. I really do not NEED both services for personal use; however I do need to check my development efforts on today's more popular phones. I also have access to a Verizon "candy bar" phone, a Chocolate (my daughter's), to check things on that platform.

I had looked at the Cingular Blackjack smartphone. Impressive, and I might have gotten that--but found I could not type with only one hand. To me, mobile devices are supposed to be ultimately MOBILE, and I believe operation should be easy with just one hand. And, evidently--from the numbers different of devices sold--I am not alone in that thought.

I use the BB to do most surfing. It will even let me get into the CPanel on my servers to make "emergency" repairs in my coding if I find a problem. I have a strong EDGE signal at both of our homes and find load times are excellent for "real" .mobi sites.

Do you have an internet enabled mobile device or cell phone? Yes

Do you surf the net on your mobile device? No, I don't have any need to do so. I only carry it when I'm at work.

Yes to both. I check my email and do whois lookups via mine. It is a full HTML/XHTML browser but isn't that big a screen. It is called the o2 Ice.

WAP pages do not show WBMP images so it isn't a WAP browser :)

I have a samsung phone from Cingular that's almost 3 years old now. I don't know how it was able to survive that long, and I don't know why I kept it for so long. Unfortunately it only has a version of Cingular's internal closed loop net service on it. So I can't do any real surfing.

This month I'm planning on getting the BlackJack or the Cingular 8525 with an unlimited net package. It's about time!

i'm browsing with a RAZR right now and its a nightmare. I'm getting a smartphone soon...either the samsung blackjack or the treo 750 when it comes out.

I have to surf as I create sites, encode videos and more, so it pays to be able to test them out.

Excellent point. If it takes more than one hand to use a device you're less mobile.

I personally am looking forward to Apple's Iphone that should come out in '07. It will be interesting to see what they come up with. Many design have been "published" of what the thing could look like.

If Apple comes out with a phone , it won't be called the iPhone. Another company already owns that name.

I agree. It probably will be called Ipod "something". It's just been given the "iphone" name by journalists and bloggers.

What's interesting is that Apple has TM'd the name "iphone" in most other major countries and there is speculation a company "under a different" name has a "pending" application for "iphone" in the US.

Thankyou everyone for voting!

It's good to see the majority of this forum uses the net on their phone.
