No, not THAT first time :hehe: Your very first domain sale :sold:

Was it a big sale? Was it private, or through someplace like Sedo? Did you purposely search for an end user? I'd love to hear any stories anyone wants to share about their "first time"

I never even heard of domaining until about a month ago and so far I only have a few hand regs. and 1 4L.com I won at Sedo. I have had 1 or 2 offers so far, but haven't made my first sale yet and have to admit..I'm alittle nervous about my own "first time" :red:

my first sale was an LLLL on Namepros for 26$ :)
Though about a week ago I made my first enduser sale. He contacted me through whois email to get his surname.net
I sold it cheap, because he legitimately seemed to be a poor student ;)
Sedo transaction went smoothly in 3 days.
Nothing much to tell :)

As I posted here in 2003, my very first sale hooked me for life! :$: :talk: :imho:
"TubeWeb*com" ... made it up thinking to do with "television" back in 1999. Sold it approx. six months later to an End user who works with actual tube cuttings/fittings, a manufacturer. They owned (and still do) both the ".NET" and ".ORG".
Net proceeds after GD's Escrow-only service ... $6,350.00!
I remember it well. :lala:

Welcome to #1 Namepros, and all the best!

Mine was small, i just randomly decided to register afteraccess*com one day... it was my only domain for like a week.

I then came here and within 3 days i had sold it for $100 after my first post to someone in the wanted section... not much but at the time i was a hugely excited and confused... since then i have only sold a few but i know some biggens are on there way :)

PS. 500th post!

I started in December last year. I got undisposable.org from TDNAM for $130 or so and flipped it to the Original owner a few days later for $300. That has been my best sale so far.

I started domaining in mid 2006, and by december of that year, i was able to sell 30 of my fresh regged names for $600.
Since then,i've not had any sales. lol.

Can't recall my first one, probably around $50 or so.

My first ones here at namepros were bought and flipped the same week. Bought 4 geos at $10, sold them as a lot for $750 within 3 days.

I sold the first domain I ever regged at $800, 3 months within regging it.

Sold my first hand-regged domain for $150.00 a week after purchasing it. Haven't looked back since!

I find domaining challenging, a little risky, and most importantly, a lot of fun!

I sold mhloan(s) dot com a few years ago to an end user who contacted me. I got enough to buy the Dreamweaver Suite of applications. (It was macromedia then). It mostly has inspired me to hang onto the domains I have.

Wow, these stories are great and so motivational! Thank you all for sharing :) Some of you did VERY well with your first sales too, kudos to you, and it's encouraging to know that recently regged names can also be worth a sale if the right user comes along.

I hope in the months and years to follow we all have many profitable and rewarding sales :sold:

My first domain sale was waaaay back in like '02 or something.. I feel a tad bit guilty reflecting on it, just a tad ;) I picked up books4kids.org on an expired list and regged it. A week later the "original registrant" told me they were running some sort of site on it and they wanted it back. I wasn't totally convinced and I told them simply $100 would suffice. They did not like that. I put it on ebay that week with a $125 BIN and notified them of the auction. They bought it that same day. Shame on me?

Today, buydomains has this domain parked and for sale, hmm wonder whatever happened to the people that had bought it back from me?

I remember my 1st time in both instances

As to domains, my 1st sale was a very small sale of a CCC.info that I bought for 99 cents & sold for $5. This was done only a few months ago as I don't really plan to sell the names I buy. But now, I am more flexible & willing to look at selling as I need more $$$ to buy more! :)

Hmm... I think my first sale was buying Eastly.com for $5, and selling it for $15.

Hehe, "from small beginnings are large sales made" ;)

my first one was very strange. It was awinery.com for $1,000. The person sent me a cheque and then I asked him for information so I could transfer it to him. He never replied and I sent several more emails over time and kept renewing it for at least a couple years before I finally gave up and let it expire. I think something probably happened to him soon after he sent the cheque. That was such a big sale for me that it inspired me to register too many domains before I knew enough about what kind of domains to get. That got me into financial difficulty so I started to think it would have been much better if the domain never sold. I got a large amount of "a" domains and finally let almost all of them expire except for a few. I remember I had agirl.com, aplane.com, and another one which I forget. I was on a chatboard and asked a couple other people if they could help me sell the 3 domains and we would each take a third of the profit. I would supply the domains and they would supply their talents in selling and promotion...but we weren't able to sell them at our asking prices and I let mine drop, or else I gave them the other 2 while I kept agirl.com, I forget.
