Do you follow SEO Guides?

Just wondering do you all follow guides by the "seo experts" etc? I been following my own way and ignoring the so called "important rules" and I have ranked well in search engines..I think google and other search engines are starting to rank differently optimized sites better then standard SEO which *every* webmaster tries.

Anyway im posting this to say follow your hearts (I need a life :P) when optimizing your site and getting listed in search engines, Do what you want as long as it seems sensible and you could end up with a great rank rather than end up with an okay rank following a SEO guide :hehe:

I would definitely follow the guidelines. It's good that you ranked well in search engine without the help of SEO Experts. Well that's your own perspective that you can rank well in search engines if you do not follow SEO guides.

I use to follow the guidelines, but they never seemed to work for me or were just too tedious. I created my own way (loosely adapted from techniques of SEO experts) to get my sites near the top of the search engines and listed quickly. I'm happier with the results of the way I do things and it's a lot less work.

Of course you should read the guidelines and understand them so you don't get banned from any search engines. You don't have to follow them exactly but you definitely should have an understanding of the different techniques and do's and don'ts of optimizing your sites.
