discuss Do you even NamePros, Bro? - NP Lander Monetization Generated $100 USD

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
I was reading NamePros threads today and engaging with a few, as per usual, when I came across a few talking about domain landing page issues, like: which ones are working, which ones died, ad blockers killing them, AI causing potential TM issues on landers, search engine optimization (SEO), etc...

With the above in mind and since I recently generated $100 from a NamePros landing page, I figured I would share a little about it (But not too much) to help address some of the things I've been reading about it lately on NamePros regarding landing pages.

Note/Request: I used images as to not have the domain in the examples indexed in this article. I also didn't link to any of my landing pages. Please do not post the domain name in the comments/replies. I appreciate you consideration to my request. ;)

The short and skinny

Obviously, most of our domain names sit for a while before being sold or dropped during the next portfolio purge. In that time, we all get hit with renewal costs that can sometimes become financially stressful. I know it's not practical to develop every domain in our portfolios, but landing pages give us another solution.

Many domain investors gravitate to a parking page or landing page that has some form of monetization to try and recoup those stacking renewal costs each year. Most end up using parking with PPC (Pay-Per-Click), which generates a few cents to a buck or two per click (When you're lucky and get organic traffic that converts).

How often is that in today's search engine world though?

Harsh reality

Many (or even most) parked and landing pages have duplicated content or packed with ppc ads that cause the page to get stuck in the search engines supplemental index or penalized, never to be found in an organic search for related niche terms to the domain we wanted to sell.

That's not very helpful.

The Solution (VIP and Gold Members)

Ideally, for a domain investor looking to park or land a domain, it benefits us the most to have maximum customization control over our landing pages, along with the ability to monetize them ourselves to help soak up renewal costs each year.

Over the last 2+ decades, I've tried a lot of different parking and landing pages and none of them fit the bill of customization + monetization + no duplicated (automated) content + no AI generated content that potentially leads to legal TM issues (In today's AI driven world).

The best I have found (And now use religiously), is NamePros Landing Pages.

Here's how I generated $100 using a NP Landing page

I made sure to craft my landing page content to be 30% to 50% unique, creating a Brand Overview and Details section. The rest of the page under those is the rinse and repeat parts (E.g. Registrar, contact me, payment options, negotiation steps, add-on options and banner monetization).

For the sake of this NamePros landing page review, I'll use the landing page and domain that generated the $100.

Google and Bing SERPs

The visitors I generally get using a landing page that can be indexed in search engines without being penalized or dropped into the supplemental index are from organic searches. In this case, it was from a 2-word search phrase (Confirmed by the new client that typed it and found my page) matching my domain that has the term on Page 1 in both, Bing and Google. Granted, the term isn't searched for much, maybe in the x to xx per month, but all it takes is that one person to visit and convert.

Here's how the phrase worked out for me in Bing and Google:

Landing Page Banner Monetization

Now for the part you've probably been waiting for (and possibly skipped over everything else to see), how I monetized my NamePros Landing Page. It's simple, really, NamePros landers allow full customization of the description area using HTML. That means we can get pretty creative and even add images to our landers. In my case, banner ads.

The Conversion

So, basically, someone did an organic search for the phrase I outlined further up in this article, landed on my page, didn't want to buy the domain name (Sadly), but had a need for a design service I offered, so they clicked the banner which took them to my service page and contacted me for a quote, which resulted in a $100 sale (E.g. conversion from a lead that came from a NamePros landing page).

Thoughts

$100 isn't much, but it's going to cover a few domain name renewals for the next year, which is still a win in my book. I think I'll be exploring more ways to monetize a landing page in the future, or at a minimum, putting more domain names on NamePros landers. ;)

Questions for you

  • Are you already using NamePros landing pages?
    • If so, have you monetized them yet?
    • If not, Why not?
Remember, at the end of the day, a domain name is truly only worth what a buyer and seller agree on.

What works for one may not work for another and vice versa.

Have a great domain investing adventure!

Great tips! But it might be worth adding a note in the title that this is a VIP-only feature, so other members donโ€™t get confused if they canโ€™t customize it.

Thanks, I updated the solution segment to "Solution (VIP Only)".

Though, it may be available to gold members as well.

Maybe a gold member can chime in and confirm?

maybe I missed it but 100 over what time?

I assume not a year but if u make 100 even a year on one name it's amazing

so based on your view.. and tis system if I ask u do I feel 100 is about as good as it may get or u see it more on lower end of potential scale?

I put the domain on a lander 2 1/2 months ago shortly after registering it. So $100 isn't bad for that.

In my opinion, I see it doing way better for premium domains that get lots of views.

However. If I can maintain $100 every 2 to 6 months on different domains of lower quality, I still chalk it as a win.

Only a couple months into testing, so, too early to tell.

I'll circle back at 6 months of testing to update ๐Ÿ˜‰

Not sure where that AI rabbit hole goes, but it will be an interesting ride to see along the way. Lol

Well, technically, once its all set up, its basically just idling there, passively.
or we just kinda do it all from scratch?
One can quickly learn or piece together html for the NamePros landers using w3Schools. Which is a completely free way to learn basic coding skills.

For now. It all has to be done from scratch. Maybe in the future NamePros might start automating some of that for those that don't code. (Fingers crossed)

Not really magic... just some html + banners + unique content.

One could use:
- W3Schools for the html code (free)
- Gimp or Inkscape to make a banner to promote their own services (free)
- Signup to an affiliate program that provides banners (free)
- Use an AI assistant for the content creation and editing it before publishing to remove any potential legal nuances (free)

And BAM!, you're all set. No out of pocket cost, just a time investment into one's future potential.

Oh, this might get me to finally try it out. Just checked out the page - https://www.namepros.com/parked/texicanagypsy.com

So we can put our own affiliate links on the landing page and room for some other text? That would be much better than the usual 3 PPC ads on landing pages.

You would need to confirm it with a moderator, but i would assume its all good, unless your content or links violate one of NamePros rules. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I don't see that being a problem, it would be something like JellyfishLamp.com, one of mine, with links to Amazon, Ebay, Spencers.

Still think you guys should do a standalone site along with what you're doing now. You guys could be swimming in some money.

Benjamin Franklin appears in NamePros Parking (2025) as himself, pocketing his first $100 with a lightning-fast sales lander that proves to be a real money-maker.

Congrats, Eric!

P.s. I would love to see what you end up doing with one of the landers (html layout + content selection) and how you ended up monetizing it.

Let me know once you have one hammered out so I can take a peek-a-boo at it. ;)

after those other posts on landers thread many hope for some ready made solution from np to monetize. I hope u make it.

it would take unfamiliars long long time to understand let alone implement what u posted here.

the only way I know to monetize a name is click on add domains button on bodis

hmm...

Even with the following free stuff to get people headed in the right direction?:
One could use:
- W3Schools for the html code (free)

That would be something you should put in the "What should NamePros Add" thread so the people that handle all that cool stuff can see it :) - here: https://www.namepros.com/threads/what-should-namepros-add.920208/
