Do high volume/longtail keywords have value as undeveloped domains?

Just a quick question-

Have many people had success in getting value out of undeveloped domains that fit this criteria? I've found a few but don't have time to develop them in the near future.

Example: XxxxxxxxxXxxxxxxXxxxXxxxxxx.com gets ~2500 exact searches/month. Any value in names like this?

Thanks.

Try and find an enduser - I have had some success at the $300-500 level.

Google the term and also check it on domaintools.com then contact any websites/companies that could benefit from it. However if they're not interested then it is probably of little worth unless you develop it or it gets natural type-in traffic.

A useful tool to check before you register a long tailed keyword phrase domain is

www.keywordspy.com

this will tell you if anyone is paying for that keyword and hopefully give you an indication if there are any potential end users out there.

make sure these are "exact" searches not "broad" and I've heard about long tail keyword domains that get good traffic and revenue...

If I had this type of domain I would plan on developing it if you want to get the most bang for your buck. You are gonna take a loss selling it otherwise.

From my own experience developing these, I would never buy one for much more than reg fee. Any of these that I have, I have them because I didn't want to fuss around with thinking up something better or spending money on the secondary market. These domains are almost always for "build it and forget it" sites that rely on SE traffic, so the value of the project is in question from the start.
