Editor's Note: Our weekly sales column would normally be out this evening (Wed. July 13) but we just got access to a massive database of previously unreleased sales (thousands of transactions totaling many millions of dollars) that we want to start sharing with you as soon as possible, It will take another day to get the first block of sales processed (due to the huge amount of data we plan to release the 6 months worth of 2016 sales in two-month blocks over the next three weekly reports). We also have an even larger group of 2015 sales that will be released in a manner consistent with how we report prior year sales that come to light in a later year. I'll have all of the details for you in the next report that will come out Thursday (July 14).

Could these sales possibly be from Godaddy?
They have been is quiet period for a really long time, maybe its finally over.

My guess is it's from DomainNameSales, which could upset a lot of their users who have opted (within their system) to not have that data released.

We'll see soon I guess. Either way it's positive news for the industry.

It might be them but DNS but that policy is solely from DNS not to publish sold names and I see nothing wrong if they decide to publish the name. You can't tell me that EVERY one who bought from them opted for for privacy, can you?

I am sure they will leave out the ones that signed NDA.

Anxious to see the list and sales, but also wonder where they might be coming from!

Once before they published a huge batch from DNS - but now they say they have two batches.

Which platforms do not report sales so far?

You have to opt-in since it is set as private by default. I love Uniregistry and I love their platforum. I opted-in.

Be careful what you assume about DNS now, and test your assumptions. It seems global settings for newly added domains are now controlled via the Uniregistry interface, which makes this type of "market" data public by default. And it seems there are some bugs so it is not certain how previously added domains behave.

When I add a domain name to the Market at Uniregistry it is set to private by Default. I just added domain names last week and I had to opt-in to make the data public.

My guess is that it has something to do with the paltry hearsay results we receive each week through the normal hearsay channels, and that the barfers of that propaganda are probably struggling with diminishing interest in what they've been hurling at us week after week, and with it their diminishing relevance.

Was correct, but many of the sales have already been reported particularly from the domain conferences.

Or perhaps a desperate attempt to gain something positive with an environment of the ever-present possibility of failure. After all, when an entity loses credibility of measurable, significant scale, anything goes!

Great news, should be interesting to see the figures.
