.Mobi continued to dominate the Global Contenders chart this week as more sales were closed from Sedo's second premium .mobi auction. The mobile extension took ten of the first fifteen positions on the new GC Chart. We expanded this list from 20 to 30 positions to make room for the latest wave of .mobi sales.

You saw the first six sales on this list (led by Download.mobi at $51,000) on the all extension leader board earlier. The top sale you haven't seen is #7 Immo.mobi at €6,300 ($9,078). .Net made its first appearance on the board at #8 with Cart.net selling for $7,700 at NameJet. .Org didn't appear until Gnet.org popped up at #14 after going for $4,400, also at NameJet.

.Info finally took a bow at #24 with Airplane.info ($2,800) while .biz was latest to the show, slipping in at #27 (tie) with a $2,500 sale at Sedo. Here's how all of the Global Contenders stacked up for the week ending December 16:

For the sake of completeness among other things, here is the only other paragraph focusing on .mobi in this week's DN Journal Domain Sales column (published Dec 19):

"Five of Sedo's entries were .mobi domains from their second premium .mobi auction (staged in conjunction with the .mobi registry). That group was headed by #4 Download.mobi at $51,000. Sedo completed a third .mobi premium auction two weeks ago but has since voided all results from that event due to a server crash as the auction was ending. The event is now set to start over on January 23. The cancelled auction garnered a lot of attention when music.mobi drew a high bid of $616,000 and Games.mobi attracted one for $401,500. However, both will go back on the block next month due to the technological snafu."
