rejected.

This is one of those names that I call "business idea in a box".

Perfect name for company that stores items needing special care like explosives, chemicals etc.

North/Sherpa is published while Lead/North was rejected.

Now which name tells a story and a journey better?

Trust me, the reviewers at BB are NOT experienced in phonetics and branding, they are stuck in an isloated bubble with a keyword list.

From what i've read, you seem to have a good understanding of branding. Stick to your own marketplace and the sales should come. :)

dont know if it has happened with others but with me often when most of my submitted domains are accepted, like say 7 out of 10 then the next 10 i submit (equally good if not better) then out of it either all are rejected or max 1-2 are selected, this has happened more than few times (almost everytime) with me first 10 - Accepted accepted (7-8 accepted) then next 10 rejected rejected rejected ( all rejected or 8-9 rejected) and in the process they have outrageous rejections.

My questions here are do they balance out the ratio of accepted/rejected intentionally? has anyone ever had like 80-90% acceptance rate?

I think they are just inconsistent. They also fail to look deep into a names meaning.

It's just lazy, bad for the sellers and bad for the total image of the platform.

Career/Nerd rejected yet school/nerd is accepted.

School/Nerd is a good name, just as is Career/Nerd.

Perfect example of INCONSISTENCY. Waste of energy.

SchoolNerd is actually a real thing/person. What is a CareerNerd? I've never heard someone called a CareerNerd. I could vaguely see it as a tech job site or something like that but very vaguely.

I think you are looking at the definition rather than the association of the words. In branding it is the association that builds the memories and the feelings, they force us to imagine, dream and connect with the brand.

Career/Nerd is a powerful name that has a wide range of use, from schooling, resume building, training, apprentice work, self improvement etc.

The name is also crystal clear in what it offers. It is positive, rewarding, offering hope and guidance. THese qualities can only be found in great brand names.

School/Nerd is actually more restrictive, but still a good name.

Do not think of what something is, think of what it evokes. Too many times on here I see people say "What is a word/word?.

Brand naming is a highly creative industry. BrandBucket is meant to be a creative business names marketplace.

Of course on any naming panel their are those that block great names, but in the end most of the panel will go with the names that sound good, connect and connotate the true essence of the brand message. Career/Nerd does all of these things. BrandBucket is only showing itself as not understanding the depths of naming.

They stick to a popular keyword list, just check their portfolio...all the same drab again and again. Some really worthless names. The giants in the naming world tend to show some BB names as what not to do, I really think BB should re-evaluate. But they won't, as long as they profit they could not care less for the sellers and the startups that buy their names that do not even use them because they are plain awful.
